My wife-to-be and I are going to WDW for our Honeymoon Apr. 30th-May 7th. We have the dining plan and she very much loves Italian. One of our Epcot days, I've made ADRs for L'Originale Alfredo, but I've not seen good things on this forum. Should I make a switch to Le Cellier? Keep in mind that she loves Italian! Thanks for any input!

Most people on this board seem to hate Alfredo's but I like it. I've been there with my parents, my niece, friends, and DH on our honeymoon. First off, I don't eat pasta, so I cannot comment on the quality of the pasta, but I've enjoyed the fish, steak, and risotto. I like the bread and the salad and the desserts are yummy. It is crowded and the tables are close together but I don't see that as such a bad thing. I've been able to have personal conversations and I've actually enjoyed speaking to folks at other tables (DH says I'm just a born talker, get that from my mom) and seeing where they're from and such.

We're at Disney, on average, once a month and we go to Alfredo's probably once a year.

That said, LeCellier has superior food and atmosphere and I highly recommend it! We would eat there a lot more often if DH would agree to ADRs (he likes to 'wing it').

Congratulations on your marriage and enjoy your honeymoon no matter where you go to eat :goodvibes

Thanks a lot! I may just leave it as is...We've got plenty of other restaurants lined up for the rest of the nights. Have you ever eaten at Flying Fish? I'm looking forward to it.

We ate there in December and thought the food was excellent and the service was outstanding. This was our first visit and we will definately go back.

I have not had the pleasure of dining at Flying Fish but my friend and her family LOVE it! I've heard good things about it. We keep meaning to go there, but again DH doesn't like to be on a schedule, which is necessary with ADRs for popular restaurants. It's your honeymoon, take the time to just stroll around and enjoy everything, smell the roses and have fun! :goodvibes

Hello and congratulations on your upcoming marriage.
My family vacationed in the fall of 05 for 10 days. We ate at Alfredo's and we all LOVED it!!! We are all lovers of Italian food and my children especially love pasta and we all thought it was great! As a matter of fact it was the only rest. where we ate that everyone cleaned their plate. Perhaps we were all starving that day :confused3 . Desserts were good too. If you love Italian food I say...go for it.

As JandJ suggested...eat at Le Cellier!!! Best food at Disney. My DH, who is not a steak lover, said it was the best meal he has ever eaten. :thumbsup2 (As a matter of fact, four months later, he is still talking about it! The man loves food!) We laughed at that later because he was determined not to eat steak since he really isn't crazy for it. However, we kept after him saying, "We are in a steakhouse. Eat steak!" He loved it! We all did!

All this talk of food is making me hungry

During our last trip (Sept 2005) we ate at Alfredo's. It might have just been our visit, but there was a big difference between the fettuccine alfredo appetizer (served for one) and fettucini alfredo dinner entree. The appetizer was unappetizing and cold and slightly congealed, but the dinner entree was absolutely wonderful! They make their own fettuccine there and you can certainly tell - the pasta itself is light and delicious. I'm not sure what made the entree better than the appetizer; maybe just the bigger portion helped keep it warmer on its trip to our table! We also had a nice carafe of wine at a Disney-reasonable price.

We also ate there in December and thought it was great! I am a huge fan of Fettucini Alfredo anywhere and there's did not disappoint! We also got the chicken entree, which was dry and tasteless. Stick with the pasta!

Don't like it one bit. Yes, if you enjoy bumping elbows with strangers, it'd be a great place to eat (unless they don't want to talk to you!), otherwise pass it. Olive Garden has better (not to mention cheaper) food. There are lots of other good restaurants in Epcot - we like Mexico, Morocco, and Canada.
:goodvibes

My DF's quote from the first time we ever ate at Alfredo's is "Wow, I can't believe anyone can make spaghetti and meatballs taste this good!!"

Try the plate that has the three choices on it . . . fabulous!!

For another :thumbsup2 , my girlfriend, Gerralda, from Italy, is a DVC member and eats there everytime she goes to Disney!

'Fredo's is our all-time #1 favorite WDW eatery. We've dined there every trip since Epcot opened.:earsboy:

Just got back from a fabulous WDW trip and just had to make a suggestion. My husband and I have been going to WDW for just about 20 years - which I can't believe as I'm typing this - our first trip was on our honeymoon. We used to love Alfredos. After 3 poor dining experiences we gave up on it (not all that long ago). We like Portabellos. We now love Palio... and since you'll be at EPCOT it's only a few steps away - just an enjoyable walk through the Boardwalk and you're at the Swan. If you go - ask for Michale Sanders - his business card says he's a server/certified trainer. Hope he never leaves. Great food, great atmosphere - less noisy & more romantic - & excellent service - which we have never had at Alfredos over years of going there - even when we liked it - we always felt rushed. Check out the menu.

We enjoy Alfredo's much better than Mama Melrose's. We have never had bad food or service and the desserts are YUMMY!

I went to Alfredo's a couple of weeks ago, and had the best meal of my trip. I got a ceasar salad, lasanga, and they brought me chocolate mousse for my birthday. The lasanga was the best I have ever had. Very tasty and saucy. If I wasn't a civilized person, I probably would have licked the plate ;)

L'Originale Alfredo di Roma - How do like it?

We've eaten here several times and have greatly enjoyed the food but the service has always been kind of so so.
