Hi Everyone!!

I'm getting ready to book our second trip to the fort!!! I'm trying to decide if I need a Premium site or if I can get away with a Preferred site. When we went last time we had our 26ft TT and stayed in 300. Now we have a almost 40ft TT. I'm sure we can fit into the preferred site but I'm concerned about making the turns in the loops.

What are your opinions. Is it just safer to upgrade to the big rig section.

TIA

I'd reserve the loop I liked best and be sure to have them note your length on the reservation.

There are tight spots in just about every loop. Note your rigs length on your ressies and if you get there and find its not workable find a spot somewhere near that is and call the front desk

Since you were in 300 last time, does that mean you had a pet with you? Will you be booking a pet loop this time?

The reason I ask is of the three Preferred loops, 300 (the only pet loop of the three) is probably the tightest in places - mostly when trying to back into a few sites and the tow vehicle has to swing wide into the sites across the street. 300 has a slight "S" curve which can make things tricky for long rigs in a handful of sites. 100 and 200 (non-pet loops) are simple circles and easily navigated on the road and thus a little easier (relatively speaking) to back into.

Premiums are big of course.

If you want peace of mind and the incremental cost is not an issue, go Premium and if you have a pet request 500 loop in your MDW early check-in option that opens up 60 days before arrival. 500 is a Premie right across the street from the pet park. If you have a pet and book Preferred, chances are they will assign you to 300 initially.

Bottom line is turns in the loops is generally not an issue in the loops for any size rig. Being able to swing out and back in is problematic in a few sites.

Thank You!!

We did not have a pet that we just the loop we got assigned the last visit. I'm not worried about location of the loop we get put in I just want to make sure we don't have problems moving through the loop. When we were there we saw someone hit a tree in on of the loops and now I'm worried about it. My hubby drives big trucks and trailers for a living so I'm sure he can make it work.

More of an issue, is people double parking with extra vehicles on the road way. I had a tough time getting to my spot in 600 with double parked cars. Doesn't look like they enforce the one car to a campsite rule. Or children not driving golf carts.
