Looking at loop requests for our upcoming trip and am wondering if you all have a significant preference as to whether you are on the inside or the outside of the loop (excluding 1400, which would have a different consideration). Which do you prefer? Why?

Inside of the loop will have you backing into your site on the drivers side which is typically easier to do. Outside of that it's really not a lot of difference in my opinion.

While "they" say the inside is easier because it is on the drivers side, now that I have updated to a 38 foot fifth wheel, and frequently show up by myself, (everyone else fly in later), I like the outside of the loop. The turn is not as sharp. Some loops are almost a straight back in. If the loop roads were wider, then it might be easier on the inside, but you can't count on where people park their tow vehicles.

I'm with Ed. Site size doesn't seem to matter since most aren't tight loops. There are just as many hard or easy sites to get into on each side of the loop. Backing in on driver's or passenger's sides doesn't really matter to me. Now, if they just would make some pull throughs. :D

:-) Must be the voices in my head. I would swear I read a post from you that said there are good and bad on either side of the loops.

Now that I work in neurology I believe I could get you in for an evaluation...

Possible referral for neuropsych evaluation as well.

Discounted of course

I would probably scare you. I've had 11 documented concussions. And yet I'm normal... Or so they tell me. :P

We're pulling 39'+ into the Fort in January. We've been there the last couple of years (1100 loop). Outside corner sites are the easiest, going in on either the driver side or passenger doesn't seem to matter as long as you have a spotter. As you said, you're coming in by yourself (unless I misread) so it could make a bit of a difference.

We had a guy last year with a 46' on a crew cab long bed dually that needed a couple of spotters. He was on an inside site and it took several tries to get him into the right spot. Getting out worked ok.
