Loop 1100?

I've heard on another thread that loop 1100 has had some work recently and most of the undergrowth which provided the privacy between the sites is now gone.



Does anyone have any recent experience/pics? I am planning on being there in a week and am trying to determine if I need to request a different loop (we had specifically requested 1100 because it provided more privacy). Thanks.

I believe most of the undergrowth through out every loop has been sprayed and killed. I know loop 1600, 1700, 1800 and 1900 were done when we where there in June and I seem to remember pretty much all of them being that way when we drove around in our cart.

It just seems alot more open now but you still can't beat the Fort. Trees are all still there, just the undergrowth and weeds and such between sites. There was till some growth seperating the middle of the sites so that you could not see the camper behind you...at least on loop 1700 where we stayed.

Wow, thanks for the pics...that helps a bunch! It doesn't appear to look too bad. I hope FW is not going for the parking lot appearance that seems to be prevalent among so many campgrounds these days. You know...all concrete, no foliage, tight spaces, etc.

Camping used to be about enjoying nature and people enjoyed spending time out door in it. Now it seems like people just roll into their "parking space" and remain inside the RV until time to leave. As a result, it seems like campgrounds are responding with smaller an smaller sites.

I for one am sad to see the trend change. Let's hope FW is just getting rid of a fire hazard, etc. and that's all.

We stayed in 1109 for a week in June right after they cleared everything out. All the underbrush will come back in time, but I agree it was done for safety. We were in the back, next to the cabins, and we could see our coach from the bus stop. It is really not that bad, and if you ask to stay in the back, you should be just fine. I thought I was really going to mind it because I liked the privacy of the loops as well, but it really didn't seem to make much of a difference. I hope this helps you out a bit. Here was our site.
