I've just done the accuweather 15 day forecast and it looks like the highs are only going to be in the mid 60's during the day and the 40's at night. Anyone know how accurate these 15 day forecasts are? We are going to be there from 12/5 to 12/13.

I'll be there from 12/3-12/8. I wouldnt worry about the weather. Florida weather changes daily; not to mention meteorologists can't predict tomorrow's forecast let alone 10-14 days from now.

I know, but I so was looking forward to at least mid 70's just because it is so stinkin' cold in Maine already! Oh well, I'll hope for the best. We went this time two years ago and it was beautiful. Mid 70's, no rain and only cold one night. Here's hoping for that again. Have a great trip!

Last week, the weather forecast called for our weather this week to be in the high 60s. Now, we leave today and the weather is mostly in the low 70s, with one day at 77. So, it can change quickly. I just packed for a variety--it's a good thing we're driving. lol

Don't worry! Mid-60's during the day won't feel so bad -- and chillier weather means short lines at the parks!

We used to always go in January/February and I would wear a hooded sweatshirt, t-shirt underneath, stretchy-pants and warm socks. That was my typical cold weather touring outfit and it was great -- very comfy.

Warm socks under Crocs works well, too.

Have a great time!!!!

it's really not the weather's fault. if there was any true element of legitimacy in forecasting, they'd all at least agree with each other on the same day.

It was often in the high 60's with a low of 40's (sometimes dipping down to 38 degrees!) when we were at Disney last week. Please pack a winter coat if you can, or be prepared to buy fleece blankets to wrap members of your family.

From the adults I saw, and in my experience, those fleece blankets sold everywhere are not large enough to cover more than one person.

We are from Chicago, and we used our wool winter coats every night that we were there. (We originally thought we would only use the coats when we returned home from the airport!) We left the coats in the car until mid-day when we would return to the car to pull them out before we hopped to another park. Even with the coats, we were still cold a few nights. The other park guests were FREEZING, even in jeans, and many of them cut their evenings short because they weren't properly dressed for the chilly weather and fierce winds... Everest and Test Track are both partly outdoors and the wind was sharp against our faces when we rode them; I can only imagine how it felt to the other guests. Let's just say that a lot of guests caught colds.

The benefit was shorter or no lines at the parks at night. We were so grateful that we booked our ADRs at indoor restaurants, which guaranteed us some rest in heated buildings in the evenings.

Please pack some pants, at least one long-sleeve shirt, mittens (and hats if you can), and a coat will be a must at night.

This is the typical weather pattern for FL for Dec and Jan. It is usually chilly in the morning and at night but warm during the day because of the sun being out. I would just pack pants and long sleeves shirts and a light jacket. I don't think you need a winter jacket (a real heavy one). This weather is actually refreshing after it being 90's for 8 months.

is there a good reason to believe that the 15 day outlook in central florida would be more accurate than the 15 day outlook where you live?

That actually sounds pretty good for December...but it's so far off it isn't worth worrying about right now.

A 15 day forecast is not accurate. Heck, even a 2 day forecast isn't accurate. Just use the information they give you as a guideline for the range of WX you may experience when you get there and pack accordingly. During this time of year, we find that layers are important. By adding/subtracting you can find some combination that will keep you comfortable in whatever temp's you encounter.

We were in Disney World last year from November 27 until December 12 and the weather was in the mid seventies in the daytime and would drop to the high 50's low 60's in the evening so that you would need long pants and a sweatshirt or light jacket. We did not find it comfortable swimming weather at the resort or on the Disney cruise.

The weather was awesome for walking around the theme parks though.:santa:

That's perfect touring weather for me, too. I *would* like to use the pool at AKL at least a couple of times, though. :goodvibes

:upsidedow I was hoping it would be perfectly cool--more christmasey IMO. I am really looking forward to being there 12/5-12/14. I am taking my Mickey gloves and scarf with me just in case :) I can see it now, me screaming down EE with my scarf blazing out behind me---yipeeeeeee!!

If the daytime highs are only in the mid-60s definitely bring a light winter coat. I've been there the beginning of December many times and when highs are below 70, it gets cold at night. If you are going to be outside at night, you'll be glad to have your coat and gloves. I brought a denim one with a flannel lining, fingertip length. I remember the first time I saw Wishes it was only in the high 40's and my teeth were chattering on Main Street, I just had a lighter jacket and no gloves.

Hi Brae's Mom,

We're also from Maine, going Dec. 5-12th, and thinking the same thing too!!! I've been watching Accuweather everyday for the past 3 or 4 days and it seems like it says something different every day!!

I don't know about you but I'm already tired of this 27degree weather we've been having!!! And now they're predicting snow tonight!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed... Low 70's or high 60's would feel like a heat wave right now!!!!!

BTW - I saw NKOTB in concert back in 1987 (I think it was!! They were opening for Tiffany!) Now I'm really giving away my age!!:rolleyes1

My DH and I are taking fleece jackets. I was thinking we would both wear a hoodie under these when it gets chilly at night. I'm hoping that will be enough. I just don't want to think about wearing a heavy winter coat in Florida. I'm also taking some of those stretchy gloves and a headband to keep my hands and ears warm just in case. It's been in the 20's and 30's here with snow so mid 60's sounds great to me.

How funny. Where are you in Maine (we are mid-coast Rockland area). It's been super cold (any yes I am already sick of it). I think we're just going to have rain tonight here on the coast, but possible ice in the morning....ugh! I checked accuweather a few days ago and the 5th was supposed to be 81 and now I check today and it said 64, big change. So I guess we are just going to have to prepare for any temp. My dd was hoping to get some swimming in though! Where are you staying? We are staying at POP, we're having a girls only trip, me, my mother and my daughter. Should be fun.

No worries about giving away your age, I am probably right in the same age range as you. My best friend and I just saw NKOTB in Providence on 11/6, they were totally awesome!!! We felt like we were 14 again. I lost my voice for almost 2 weeks (it was pretty sad).

Hope you have a great trip!!

It's funny how we all think diferently depending on where we live. We're in South Texas and are of course hoping for cold weather at Disney 12/2-12/8.

We were there those same dates last year and saw low 70s during day and 40s at night.
