Looks like we are paying rack rate at the GF

I decided to book the GF in September as a birthday treat (for me) There are six of us and that meant 2 rooms. I had hoped to get a discount but since no AP rates available looks like I am stuck with 2 rooms at $339 per night each I hope it is worth it I asked about DC discount and CM said 'no discounts at the GF'

To me that is SO high! (esp for 2 rooms)! I think I would have looked for something a little less and then spent the money at V&A for dinner, or Cali Grill.. something like that! But, if it's your BD and you feel it's a once in a lifetime experience! GO and have FUN!

Do try calling back about the DC discount. Even if it wasn't available when you called this time, that doesn't mean it won't be the next time. I'm sure it's not that there are never DC discounts at the GF.

Why not try for a AAA discount. I know they have had them in the past. You can join AAA for $50 if you don't belong and I am sure you will save more than that.

Keep trying for the DC discount. Sometimes people do cancel and you can get the discount.

How do you get AAA discount ??

If you have a AAA membership you can call WDW travel to see if the discount can be applied to your dates. The rate is usually comparable to the DC discount

Ooooouch! That is very steep and I feel sorry for you, the AAA thing might at least save you some money, but try and have fun no matter what.....

I try to have at least one day of my vacation for the resort.

Well, make sure you enjoy yourself! That's quite a bit to pay for that room, but if it's really where you want to stay, I'm sure you'll love it.

Do try again for the DC discount. I was turned down and then got it, different CM, same call. So I guess, to recoin a phrase, it never hurts to keep asking.

you didn't say how long your trip would be so here goes.

1 night (2 rooms at GF) in sept= $778 a night Exp:5 nights=$3850

plus tax and extra person fee GF $25 a nt per per age 18 and up

RENT DVC-going rate about $10 a point

1 nt OKW (2 bedroom)in sept sleeps 8 ( 22 pts a nt)= $220 a nt (5nts=$1100 sun-thurs)

VWL,BCV,BWV 2 bedroom(30 pts a nt)in sept= $300 night( 5 nts=$1500 sun-thur)
If your talking this Sept don't know if available but look at the savings you get by renting.

I have already rented points at OKW 2 bed villa for days prior to GF stay. Staying at the GF is my present to me for my birthday I have wanted to stay there since we first visited WDW!!!!!!!It is the most beautiful hotel that I have ever seen and its right next to Cinderella s Castle Guess I am just going to have to live with that rate or cross my fingers and toes for last minute AP rates

Magicmouse2, you are not alone. Most of my GF stays have been at Rack Rate, so I feel your pain. Now that that has been said, the GF is my husband's favorite resort and our stays have always been happy ones. Years from now, you won't remember what you paid for your resort, all that you will remember are the wonderful vacation memories that you made. Those will be priceless.
