Looks Like No AP Promotion

I was hoping to see another AP DVC promotion like they announced in January 2104 and 2013(?) but we are now into February with an anticipated price increase. We don't need the tickets until November but am hedging to buy now before the price increase. I guess I better make a decision soon!

My guess is that if they are going to offer a discount, they have to wait until after the general price increase.

It wasn't January 2013. It was announced in October 2012 and ran through December. I agree with Bill that they will wait until the increase. Last year they announced it before the increase, the promo price didn't change but the price of a regular AP did. Before the increase an AP was less than the PAP promo but after it was $1 more.

I just saw this on another thread: It was I'm seeing info out there that an offer was given from February 6, 2014 - April 30, 2014 on Premium APs also ($484).

I don't remember when it was announced but I know those dates are right for the end, because we were able to buy our PAPs on our Easter trip and they are dated April 15. I remember the offer was ending close to our trip dates, so I was happy it worked out for us.

Our trip isn't until late July but we can book FP+ starting in late May so I was also on the fence about should I wait for a special deal like they had the last 2 years or buying our AP's before the increase (which is rumored to be around 5%). I called MS and took the "buy tickets" option on the menu yesterday to ask some "what if" questions. The CM I spoke to said that last year people who'd bought right before the special was announced and before the increase were able to call back in and get what she called a "magic number" to bring to Guest Services and then get an upgrade to the PAP via this special "magic number". So I went ahead and ordered ours while I was on the phone with her & she linked them to MDE. I feel better now knowing that I got the lower price if there is no special and also that IF there IS a deal later down the road I can call and they will give me this number so that depending on the special we can either get an upgrade or possibly a small refund or something later when we go. We were unable to take advantage of the last 2 deals so I am still hoping...

I really don't think anything will happen before the price increase which should be any day now…. That's why I went ahead & bought ours the other day…If something is announced later I will call back and hopefully get this "magic number" the CM told me about so we can still take advantage of any specials later.
