CLUELESS about this! Hoping someone can point me in the right direction or post a good link.

We have a WDW/US trip coming up next month. It is KILLING me that we won't be able to experience HP. I can't stand having to wait a couple years till we get back so layed the ground work last night with Honey. He doesn't know this, but it's pretty much a done deal!

Planning on a Universal only trip in October. 4-5 nights. Staying onsite (first time), maybe Royal Pacific (most economical?). Doing US/IOA on weekdays. Either Mon/Tue/Wed or Tue/Wed/Thu.

Will one HHN night (ticket) be enough, or do we need two nights?

What part of October is going to be best for crowds, weather and pricing? totally flexible here.

Is it best to do a package or separate bookings? How far in advance to book?

Thanks for any advice you can give. Really appreciate it!

The earlier you go in October, typically the less crowded it is. That could change with WWHP opening, but I'd still bet the crowds will get bigger as you approach Halloween.

You can do it all in one night, though sometimes you'll need an express pass in order to ensure that, but I would recommend 2 nights if you can. That way you won't be rushed. Also, it may be benificial to look into purchasing a preferred AP. You typically get good room discounts and discounted HHN tickets the first few weekends. You can buy one with their flex pay for under $20/month and it doesn't cost any extra for doing so.

I would reserve the room as soon as you know when you're going just in case, if the rates drop you can always have them apply the new rates to your existing reservation.

Whether you do a package or not really depends on the type of tickets you decide to buy.

Great advice and I would definately purchase the Preferred Annual Pass so you can take advantage of the HHN ticket discounts. If you're going two nights, make sure you look into the Frequent Fear pass which is what I buy every year. It's good on any NON-peak night during HHN and pretty cheap.

The details on HHN 20 won't be out until this summer but you can use last year's event to get a general idea of the days, tickets, etc.

Last year's website is still up for now: http://www.halloweenhorrornights.com/orlando/index.html?ref=
