lookout cay worth it?

Trying to plan a small cruise after a Sisney world trip. Never taken a Disney cruise
We are stuck between Fantasy and Wish. Castaway Cay and Lookout Lighthouse point (whatever the new one is called).
Or doing Castaway Cay and Bahamas (we've been to the Bahamas before so we don't really care about that.
Which one is worth it.
Do the boats just have the aquamouse as a water slide and that's it? No other water slides? (For adults)
ON the trip is myself, my husband, and out son (he will be 20 at the time of the trip ) and he is autistic. So legally, academically and physically an adult, but socially and maturity wise a child.
Help?
My son does NOT like putting his face in the water but loves water slides. (So no snorkeling)
What else do the private islands have to offer?

The Fantasy and Castaway Cay are much better imo. Newer isn't always better.

Adults can go on the Aqua mouse. Review both islands and see what appeals to your family more. Based on this post and your other one asking about specialty seating, Lighthouse might be better for you due to it is less active.

I think both would be great. I’d go with which price and date works best for you. The water slides on the ships are pretty mild. Castaway cay has 2 slides.

Just a note (parent in similar situation) there is a 18-20 society for kids who are too old for clubs. They meet once a day and do a 1/2 hour activity (like play basketball or get ice cream).

I do not want to get into a discussion of which ship is better. I have my opinions and I think it is really subjective.

We just returned from a Dream Cruise out of Fort Lauderdale and visited both Castaway Cay and Lighthouse Point. Castaway Cay is very nice. always has been. Lighthouse Point is a beautiful island but it is still a work in progress and not much to do unless you like the beach. It has a beautiful beach. It is much smaller than Castaway Cay and requires a tram ride once you cross the long pier from the ship. There is also golf carts available for transport across the pier. Check with guest services for the golf cart procedure. On our cruise you went to Buena Vista Theater to check in for a ride in the golf cart and on the island you can take the golf cart back to the ship first come first serve. We. had no problem getting on a golf cart for the ride back to the ship.

The Wish ships have the better set up for the 18-20 kids (1820 society) as they have an actual dedicated space for some of their meet ups. I could also see a 20 yo liking the ambiance of the bars more on the Wish (since they can't drink it would be about hanging in those space like Hyperspace Lounge). My son is autistic and as soon as he ages out of the teen club we are focusing on Wish class ships because of the designated space for the 1820 society even though I prefer the Fantasy and the Dream and I am not a Wish fan. It just fits better for the needs of my son.

There will be an introductory activity for the 18-20 Society listed in the Navigator app once you're onboard or in the terminal. (Make sure your son downloads the app before your cruise, so he can log in and see what's happening once on the cruise. The app requires a Disney account to be used for planning before the cruise, but the Onboard version just requires a room number, name, and birthdate.) The other 18-20 Society activities during the cruise will be chosen based on the interest shown the first night. My kids also bonded with other people in the group and hung out with them in smaller groups as well.

Just be aware that most of those going to the 18-20 Society will be more neuro-typical and socially more mature. It may be fine, but they may also want to do things that would be not on your child's level, so you need to be prepared for that possibility.

The first meeting they all exchange info for a group chat on the dcl app. My 19 went to a few and enjoyed meeting others and thought the counselors were funny. Some kids make friends and do things together (mine did not do this).
Both ships have interactive adventures that you use clues to solve and you go all around the ship. Also Any youth club open house anyone can go in and enjoy that club and its activities.
