Looking wrinkled without an iron!

We put our clothes that were wrinkled in the bathroom and let the steam from the shower work its magic.

Ding ding ding!!! This is the easiest thing to do.

Though like others have said, unless you're walking only inside and not planning to sit...the time spent ironing is pretty wasted.

Honestly, as soon as you sit down your clothes will get wrinkled again. I gave up ironing about 13 years ago for day-to-day clothing. I hang clothes on hangars instead of folding them, and I'll hang them up in the bathroom while I'm showering. I also use the Downy Wrinkle Release spray if something is really bad. My very dressy clothes go to the dry cleaner and are nicely pressed, but that's about it.

Honestly, not being pressed perfect is no longer something that I care about. Life's too short to worry about stuff like that.

How much time do you spend in the laundry room ironing your stuff every day? Sounds silly, but we all iron everything we wear ...even tees...everyday...didn't realize we couldn't have an iron...even one from Disney...in the room. Doesn't everybody look wrinkled all the time?

I didn't read all the responses but I remember a very long time ago sitting on the bed on vacation ironing and then realizing how much time I ironed ON VACATION!

So, from that point forward, I ALWAYS iron at home before we go.

What I do is have all our clothes out and each day after work I iron and fold.
Then, I put them all in packing cubes. I do not have wrinkles!
I am also like you, I iron everything. Actually, if my pjs are wrinkled, I iron them for vacation since they fit nicely then into the packing cubes.

If I go out, my clothes are ironed. I do not like to go out wrinkled. I'm telling you this so you understand that I am very OCD with the wrinkles and
if you iron and fold nicely, pack your clothes in the packing cubes, they will not get wrinkled.

I suggest ironing BEFORE you vacation not using that time ON VACATION to iron!

I never iron anything at home so I definitely don't iron on vacation. :)

At home I grab the clothes warm from the dryer and fold/hang them immediately. On vacation I unpack and hang everything immediately. I usually send out some of our dinner clothes (DH's and DS's shirts, especially) to be pressed, but that's it.

For day wear clothes, it will probably be cheaper and easier to just pop them in a dryer with some soaking wet washcloths and run a medium warm cycle. A couple bucks and 30 min later, your t shirts and shorts should be good. Do this the first night of your cruise. We spent a week at WDW before our lady cruise. We washed our clothes after dinner the first night and no one else was there. We were just in our stateroom on the same floor organizing everything still. We set timers to go check on stuff.

For nice clothes, we may use the laundry services this time if they are bad. The iron didn't really get too hot last time to make DH's shirts look how he wanted.

Another tip is to pack your nice clothes in dry cleaner bags. Each item in it's own bag, on hangars. My dresses are never wrinkled this way.

This is what we do. I don't iron at home (unless it's REALLY bad). When we get into our room on the ship, we take out DS's and DH's dress shirts and send them out to be pressed. It is definitely cheaper than paying for it at home!

I also roll my clothes when packing to minimize the wrinkles, and bring a travel bottle of Downy Wrinkle Release as well....just in case.

My mom irons absolutely EVERYTHING (including my dad's handkerchiefs and pillowcases/sheets!) so I can understand the need to iron. But that trait didn't get handed down to me. :goodvibes

We either use a simple water spray bottle , or hang clothes up in the bathroom while we shower. Steams the wrinkles right out. We rarely feel the need for an iron.

Tip my MiL heard or read for touching up stubborn wrinkles on cruises where irons aren't allowed: use a flat iron like for hair. I've used mine for years to quick press hair ribbons that get kinks from previous use. Well, if you're packing light or can't have an iron a flat iron can help you out for touch ups. She's going to get one with an adjustable temp to try. I told her she could use mine but all the products I cook into my hair regularly do leave a residue on my Chi. Anywhoo, just a thought!

We typically carry on our clothes (not shoes) for the 1st dinner. As soon as we get to our room we send those things out for express pressing. During that time we get a 2nd bag & form so when our luggage arrives everything else can go out for regular service pressing. For a 7-night voyage with my family of 4 our total pressing for shirts, polos, pants, my dresses, suits, and some of my other clothes usually runs about $60. I'll pay it to not have to spend time pressing all that stuff. I hate ironing!

Unless something needs a really nice press to look good(dress shirts, khakis, etc.), this is how DH and I "iron" at home. Except we just do whatever we need at that moment for about ten minutes. It saves time and looks fine.

Do you have a garment bag/suitcase? You can pack a lot of things on hangers, and they mostly come out well (sometimes long sleeves get crumpled). Also just think about the kinds of materials you are packing and try to pack items that will travel well. Packing cubes are great for casual items. Rolling your clothes instead of folding them can also be a great help!

We have never ironed in a cruise. We have sent out formal wear for pressing on occasion.

We iron everything before packing and it usually comes out looking pretty good. However, as others have said, after about 5 minutes outdoors in the humidity, the wrinkles tend to return. On everyone. And it's okay.

Iron a little before u leave, packing cubes and roll up princess dresses. I did not have to iron on the ship!

I agree that if you roll your clothes it helps with avoiding wrinkles......don't travel to Europe for irons are illegal to have in hotel rooms......You're on vacation...try something new...Wrinkles.......:thumbsup2

I haven't noticed people looking wrinkled, though I don't tend to notice other peoples' clothes onboard.

Iron before your trip, figure out a trick that works for you to keep things unwrinkly (my stepdad rolls everything while packing and insists it works...other people put each item into a dry cleaner bag, one bag per item, then rolls that and say it works, etc), and do that. If something is overly wrinkly to your eyes, send it out for pressing.

Or, since you're on vacation, just send everything out to be pressed. Just make sure you set aside a few extra dollars to have it done - it will only be $2.25-$3.50 per piece

It's NOT going to be that much unless you are doing it Express and/or you're pressing a suit or gown.

You will be wrinkled, and however your hair is naturally will be how it is on the cruise. DW and I love the first night or 2 on the cruise watching folks who clearly spent time on their hair, and by day 2 realize the wind and humdity make blow drying and curling a waste of time.

Of course, if your hair is normally like the curly side of the picture, man, keep it curly and ROCK those curls!

I feel you! I hate wrinkles.

I iron all of my clothes pre-cruise and fold and pack neatly in the suitcase (none of that rolling business that others, my boyfriend included, swear by. I have found that if you are good at folding clothes precisely, then do not bother rolling... but if you can't fold without obscure creases, then perhaps rolling is the way to go). As soon as I get on the ship, I hang up all of my dresses and blouses that need to wrinkle release. I do have a bottle of wrinkle release that I can mist on the clothes which helps a little. If something is quite wrinkled, then I go to the common laundry to iron (ironing is free). And another solution for spot-treating a wrinkle is to dampen the wrinkled spot of the clothing with water (a spray bottle works handy) and blow it dry with a hair dryer.

Downy Wrinkle Release Spray!!!!!! Use it every day at home and on vacation!!!

I never vacation without this stuff!! I hang up our clothes...spray with Wrinkle Release spray and the next day...no wrinkles!
