We live in NY but are looking to relocate to Florida. Right now DH owns his own Professional Taping and Painting business. He was kind of interested in looking into union painting for WDW but I'm not quite sure the route to go to find jobs like that. I've emailed Disney but no response. I'm not even sure if he'd be smarter to just work for himself down there like he does up here? Any thoughts or direction would be greatly appreciated.

WDW has a link on their web site for careers and they have their own FB page. Check there.

All the best.

The Disney careers website has all their postings. It can be found at www.disneycareers.com

I am trying to remember the name of the sub-company that actually handles all of that type of work. I think it is just Lake Buena Vista Construction. I know they are owned by Disney but work under a separate name for some reason (I assume insurance reasons).

You are absolutely correct Here's their info maybe they can explain to you about how to get hired I'm very sure they do not go thorough WDW hiring

A guy I know, but haven't seen in a while, used to deliver our hay. He got an electricians license and was working on the night shift through that company when 7DMT was being built. I remember he said he was not a cast member.

Not job related but YAY....We live in upstate NY and we just signed our lease to head down in October. It has been a dream for a long time and we can finally make it happen.

We too are looking at working at Disney for the perks but I am nervous about the apply once in six months. I think we are going to wait until we get there and go to Human Resources to get advice about which position we should apply for.

Unfortunately you cannot do that. The casting center will tell you to apply online. That's the way it's done. Good luck to you.

I figured we would still have to apply online but I was hoping they could tell us with our experience and current hiring needs which position we should apply for.

No like I said it doesn't work that way. Actually most jobs, especially major corporations, handle it this way everything online. Drop ins discouraged.

You know your experience and skills/ Like anyplace else you would be interested in you can do a search on their website.

Actually I think there might be two: one for jobs ( ie custodial ) and one for professional careers ( ie web design ). Not sure. Job Line though is (407) 828-1000 maybe a live person can help you more than I can.

You can call casting and try and get an appointment. They can tell you what positions are open and currentlt accepting applications and which are not.

I know several people who set up appointments with casting for a time they would already be in Orlando prior to moving there. Not sure if they applied online first but they did stop by casting.
