Looking to Upgrade to Concierge on Sept 8th Fantasy Sailing?

Ahoy, fellow DCL cruisers! If you are on the 9/08 Fantasy cruise, and hoping to try for a port upgrade, heads up! I've been putting off posting this until close to our sailing, but it is now 3 weeks from tomorrow and I have been watching the concierge availability like a hawk. *There are still THREE Category "T" One Bedroom Suites available for this sailing*, so it will be interesting to see if these 3 are still available on embarkation day. This is the ONLY category in concierge still available at this time for this sailing. So if you were hoping to upgrade at the port to concierge, looks like there will be suites available!

We booked our first ever FL resident Gtd "5C" in May. DH has been working super hard and traveling extra, so unbeknownst to him, I upgraded us to the Cat T in June. We have never, ever booked concierge in all our DCL cruises. I am super excited to surprise him! I am watching just to see if a suite opens up that I might prefer since there were only a few rooms left in concierge when I upgraded.

Just wanted to let ya'll know that are sailing on the Fantasy Sept 8th, and are hoping to do a port upgrade to concierge, it looks like there MIGHT be availability to upgrade to a 1 bedroom suite if nothing changes in the next 19 or 20 days. Good luck!!!

Does anyone know if just because there is availability, they will offer port upgrades? I would love to upgrade at the port, to save money from upgrading now. To go from our 11A GTY to a 5A verandah is quoting at $1750 right now. If past posts are any indication, we could pay less than half that at the port, if it was still available. Right now, the website is showing plenty of rooms to upgrade to. If I check the night before and they still show availability, can I be relatively confident that those rooms will be offered in port? (as long as I am early enough and someone else doesn't snag them)

Thanks!!! But I guess I was unclear, Carrie In AZ. Sorry 'bout that. I have already upgraded to a Cat T. DH does not know. I am watching availability just to see if a room I would PREFER opens up. But I'm all booked in concierge!

I just wanted any folks here on the Disboards that are on the same sailing to know that there are 3 category "T" suites still available on this sailing in case anyone was hoping to do a port upgrade to concierge.

Wish I for sure knew the answer to your questions, Disney1fan2002. My guess would be that yes, if there are open rooms, they likely would be available for port upgrades. I hope you are right about the big price difference for port upgrades compared to upgrading your room now, but I have read a few posts that indicate the savings are not as big as they used to be? Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me will weigh in.

I have only done a port upgrade one time. From an OV stateroom to a Cat 4 on a 4 night Dream cruise. That was a few years ago and I do not recall how much it was, but it was a pretty decent price to me, or I would not have done it. Good luck!!!

LOL!!! Oh good! And THANK YOU!!! I will be happy with the suite we have now, without a doubt. I've looked at photos and videos of the room we have until I'm cross eyed and it looks amazing! If I had the pick of the lot though, I would likely choose another room. Feel kind of guilty even saying that since I feel so blessed to have what we do. I'm super excited and am hoping I can keep it secret until we are boarding! That would be AWESOME!!
