Would like to try before I buy into DVC and checked the point caluclator to find that when I am going to be there (October 26-30), the 2 bedroom at BWV is 96 points. I am not sure if I am doing this right, or really how any of this works, but if anyone has 96 points to rent please let me know.

Thanks!

Shawn

Anyone? I've sent out several e-mails to people selling, but I'm still looking. E-mail me if you are interested in renting points.

I don't think people are ignoring you. There is a strong possibility that BWV is sold out for your dates. The Food & Wine Fest is going on at that time and usually causes the DVC resorts to sell out very early. Occassionally you will run into someone on this board that has an already placed reservation that they won't or can't use. I would make a backup plan.

Thanks, and I didn't mean to imply that I was being ignored, I just wanted people to know that I was interested. So every DVC property is sold out for those dates? Dang.

That seems to be pretty much the case. Halloween is a very popular time at WDW and I think that the Wine/Food Fest at Epcot is going on at/near the same time. Only someone willing to rent an existing ressie would be able to help.

Wow talk about a bummer. Oh well, back to the regular resorts. I find it hard to believe I'll find someone with the exact same dates as I for the exact same room. Does anyone know for sure that there is nothing available? This really is making me think twice about DVC because if late October (traditionally in the lower third attendance wise) has nothing available, I would hate to want to go during peak season.

Wow. Glad I know that ahead of time. All because of a wine festival at Epcot? All right, mark availability up on the con side. :)

It's not really a bummer if you are a member! We go in November. It's not like the place sells out in one day (or one month, for that matter!). You have to realize that you are trying to make ressies at around 60 days out. We were able to book months ago as members. The combo of low point requirements, great weather, and "just" a wine festival at Epcot (which is absolutely AWESOME!) makes it a very popular time. November is the grownup getaway time for DH and me. Truly a wonderful time. If you really go in October or November on a regular basis, you'll just know to make a room reservation earlier.

By the way, During "busy" season for the rest of the regular resorts, DVC is usually less busy. I've made ressies on 24 hour notice at DVC in the summer. DVC can be somewhat contrarian.

I figured someone would get upset at those comments. To me, it's "just" a wine festival. There is no way that a wine festival should be drawing enough people to sell out every single DVC unit. All I am saying is that it seems as though there are too many members and not enough units. I think I read that there are roughly 2,000 units and 70,000 members, that's tough. Not everyone plans vacations 11 months in advance. All I am saying is that as far as I am concerned it's a drawback to the plan. Just trying to gather info and make the decision that is right for me, and that's a serious negative in my book. Don't take it personally, you'd think I kicked Mickey in the kidneys.

In addition to the Food and Wine Festival there is also MNSSHP, which also attracts many. The fall (esp mid October) is wonderful time to visit and has seemed to sell out the past few years. Just to give you hope on the availability issue though, last year I was able to get a 1 bdrm at VWL for last week of October at 30 days out. You may find that some ressies get canceled "last minute". I generally plan my vacations no more than 6 months out and have had few problems with availability as long as I am flexible. DVC has been wonderful for us!!!

Thanks for the info katvan. A buddy of mine who turned me on to all of this is going to call in the morning for me and see what's available and then put his name on the waiting list for me.

OK, he can't put me on the waiting list because he has no points left. Is there anyone out there who wants to rent points (96) Oct. 26-30, BWV 2BR, who is willing to call and see if there is anything available or put themselves on a waiting list. To be honest, I'll take nearly any 2BR. If so please e-mail me........
