Hello. A woman I used to work with sold all natural nutritional supplements and they were basically fruits and vegetables turned into powder form. And they also game in gummi bear form for kids. I don't recall the name however and I would really like to purchase these for my son.

Anyone have any idea where to buy them or what they are called?

They sell gummie bear vitamins all over... Target, my grocery store even carries them now. Look either on the very top or the very bottom shelves, that's where I normally find them.

Gummy vitamins always worried me when my kids were small. I was afraid they would think that the vitamins were candy and get into them and eat them like candy! They just look too tempting. Just saying, it may be best to avoid the confusion.:)

be aware also that these do not have the flouride in them that doctors & dentists recommend vitamins have in them for kids.

I got them for my DS(3), and he is good with them. At first he thought that they were candy, but we told him they were special medicines to keep him healthy and he will only get 1-2 a day. He also eats a very good balanced diet (I really should follow his diet!) of fruits/veggies/yougurts/dairy so I don't know that they are really helping him, but definitely aren't hurting!

I used to get gummi vitamins for my kids then I compared the labels and found they didn't have nearly the good things that the Flinstone vitamins have. So be sure to check your labels before you buy.

I've never given my kids any vitamins. Their doctor says that as long as they eat a balanced and healthful diet they don't need it. I don't want to start a debate, but I'm curious about why people give their kids vitamins.

Do you mean Rhino Gummy Bear Vitamins??
They are vegan, i get mine from the vegan store.

It's a little bit of security that doesn't hurt anything.

My kids have yet to get sick this school year..in July I believe it was my 9 year old had a bout of the croup..he gets that every now and then. But other than that, my 9, 8, and 4 year old haven't even had a cold in at least 6 months. I know I just jinxed myself. :lmao: But a good diet, lots of vitamin C and hand washing can help kids be healthier!

Gummy vitamins are bad for kids teeth. I go with Flintstone. I give DD vitamins just for the insurance factor.

okay thanks! I will do a bit more research and check with the doctor first. It was acutally Juice Plus I was thinking of. I found the website by doing and internet search. I definitely want to check with the doctor before I give him any type of supplement though. I'm not a big believer in vitamins but he has been having night terrors lately and having some anxiety about going to sleep and I read somewhere that vitamins may help.

thanks for all the advice.

Danielle

Despite my daughter, age 6, eating a well balanced diet & always drinking milk, she just broke her arm for the second time. We decided to give her the gummies for additional assistance for her bone growth.

Mannatech makes gummi vitamins for kids too that I'm sure would be all natural. Some of the ones you can buy at local stores contain artificial colors and flavors that some kids have problems with.

We give DS (age 2) vitamins because he is going through that picky eating stage. My DD eats very well, but to get my son to eat anything is a struggle. So at least I know he's getting some of what his body needs from the vitamins.

I give mine because they don't always eat a balanced diet, not because I don't offer it, but because they can be picky some days........LOL
I don't give a vitamen every day, but on days I know they didn't eat as I thought they should I give them a vite. doesn't hurt.

we use the Rhino brand too, I usually get them at whole foods, or order them online

For nine years my doctor said that kids who eat a well balanced diet don't need vitamins. That said, we just had my son's 4 year check-up, and my doctor is now recommending extra Vitamin D. He said that with today's lifestyle (not being outside as much and wearing sunscreen) kids are being found to be Vitamin D deficient.

I had some Flintstones anyway because my oldest is extremely picky :rolleyes1 so I like to give him one. It had the exact amount of Vitamin D my doctor recommended, but I can't remember that number! I think I am going to switch to a natural one because I don't like the red dye in Flintstones.
