Looking to buy in 2009 BLT or AKV?

We are looking to purchase sometime this year. I am confused as to which resorts are they selling now and later this year. I was hoping to buy AKV but I am concerned that they will stop selling those and start selling BLT only. Anyone have any insight?

They are currently selling BLT, AKV, and SSR. I don't anticipate AKV not to be available for this year.

Right now, they are allowing new members to buy in at AKV with only 100 pt minimum contract. The price per point is $112/ with a $6.25 discount. If you buy in at the 160 point levle, you are eligible for a 3 night cruise or matching developer points. You would need a member referral to qualify for incentives.

I don't know how long the 100 pt level buy in will be going on, but if it is of interest of you, you may want to contact Disney. If you choose to do this, I would get a referral from a member before calling.

Of course, there are plenty of AKV contracts around on the resale market. Some at prices that may make going that route more cost effective for you, even given the incentives Disney is offering.

There are pros/cons for going resale but it depends on your situation. I think that DVC sales in general are not booming so I would not worry that you won't be able to get what you want when you are ready to buy!!!

They are currently selling AKV, BLT, the Treehouse Villas at SSR, and the Disneyland resort Villas of Grand California and will continue to do so at each until the resort is sold out. Highly likely AKV will still be around at end of year -- it is a very large resort and still has a huge number of points to sell. In fact, it is possble that BLT could sell out before AKV does.

If you like AKV, I would look at some smaller contracts via resale.
