Looking to Buy a New Camera

I have a nice little digital camera, nothing wrong with it really but it just doesn't have a very powerful zoom so I'm looking to replace it for Christmas.

I want point and shoot, not manual, with a good zoom. Any suggestions?

The Panasonic Limux FH20 has been given rave reviews - voted best camera of 2010. I have no personal experience with it. The price on Amazon last week was ~$140, but typical pricing is ~160.

I have a Canon Powershot from about 6 years ago. It is great, but the new features that are out there now are calling my name.

Daughter has a Nikon oh, I can't find her camera to tell you which one it is, sorry. She loves it. she paid about $135 for it at BJ's. The pictures are crisp and clear. I have camera envy.

Also, the people on the photography board are amazing and very helpful!!

I believe my father has the Panasonic Limux FH20. It really does take great pictures.

I have a Leica D-lux 4. It's basically a Panasonic with a Leica glass lens. Takes fantastic photos also, but pretty similar to the Panasonic in quality I thought. Not worth the extra price, in my opinion.

I've always been really partial to Canon cameras. They are very intuitive to use...and take good photos.

I just got a Sony W350 that I really like. It got good reviews on bestbuy.com. It was $169.

I have the Panasonic DMC-FZ35. It has an 18x optical zoom. LOts of settings to get creative, plus takes HD videos.
