We did Windsor Hills last year. I've heard a lot about Bonnet Creek. Are there other off-site options people like for big groups? Thanks in advance!

If three are kids, look for a house with three beds in one room. We're renting a WH townhome with a bunkbed with trundle for our three boys.

There are dozens of vacation rental communities like Windsor Hills including Windsor Palms, Emerald Island, High Grove, Highlands Reserve, Reunion, Champions Gate and on ad infinitum. They mostly give you more room and a private pool, but you need a rental car and you are a long ways from Universal.

A condo resort like Bonnet Creek is more like a hotel. It has restaurants onsite, maybe a bar, a big fancy pool, etc. You still get multiple bedrooms, kitchens and often in room washer/dryer. Hilton, Marriott, Holiday Inn and Sheraton all have very nice condo resorts and some are in between Disney and Universal and not all (or maybe any) require a car.

Budget is a big part of the equation.

It seems as though Windsor Hills and Bonnet Creek get a lot of love around the Dis. I'm assuming that's because of quality. We've been looking at a month-long rental, so seeking out the best is overwhelming!

The best depends on how you define that.

I'd say ChampionsGate and Reunion Resort are the best in that they are the nicest, most luxurious.

Others might say Windsor Palms or Formosa Gardens are the best because they are less expensive.

I prefer condo resorts, Wyndham Bonnet Creek being one, but I like the Villas of Grand Cypress even better and also the Marriott Imperial Palms and Hilton Tuscany Village.

We've rented many times in Windsor Palms and Lindfields (which is a little further but still reasonable). We've also rented twice in Crestwynd Bay.

Crestwynd is all townhomes and is more residential and less touristy. It doesn't have the resort feel or amenities. Just a community pool.

Windsor Palms has condos, townhomes, and single homes as well as a clubhouse, fitness room, theater, game room, and community pool.

Lindfields is a residential neighborhood with single homes and I think some condos, too. Not a resort at all.
