When I went in 04 I found a thread here that had links to reader tips on how to save money on food and other things. Tips like: Dont get the plastic box for the kids meal.....Get a double cheese burger then buy an extra bun and split it. Stuff like that. I can not find it and I did not print it last time(silly me)... Can anyone help me find it or something similar...

Sorry - I can't help you find a link to the post that you are referring to. My best tip is to share meals. My family finds the portions quite large and will often share. You can always order more food if necessary.

there is some of that kind of information on the mousesavers website (mousesavers.com). in fact, as I recall, she gives those exact tips that you mentioned as well as things like buying a piece of bread in the resort food court and then buying a packet of peanut butter and getting some free jelly and making a PBJ that way.

in the past (this time we are going on the DDP), we have always saved $$ by bringing our own breakfast items, snacks and our own water, soda, juice, etc. Before there were fridges in moderate and deluxe rooms, we used to bring our thermo-electric cooler and plug it in so that we could have milk, yogurt, formula, etc for the kids. We also very rarely ate TS meals. I couldn't share with my husband (he's a big eater), but I would just get the entree and no drink b/c they will give you a free cup of ice water.
