I'm looking for suggestions for what to boook for my birthday and our 25th Wedding Anniversary which will both be while I'm away next year. I had thought about Fantasmic and Hollywood & Vine (we like the choice you get with buffets) and I would quite like to go to Whispering Canyon but I would welcome suggestions from everyone else. I know I'm really in front with this but I am thinking of starting my intinery and wanted to work it into it.

So what do you think everyone?

It depends what you're looking for Wendy?

If I was having a "special occasion" meal at WDW I would probably go for something like Jiko, Artist's Point, Flying Fish, or one of the Epcot restaurants perhaps followed by an Illuminations Cruise?

H&V food is great - good quality for a buffet and great choice. I probably wouldn't put it to the top of my lists for a romantic meal though, LOL. Same goes for WCC which is oodles of fun (if you don't mind a little humiliation, mention your anniversary when you check in!)

I don't really know not necessarily looking for somewhere especially romantic because we won't be on our own. We will have DD(20), DS(16) and DD's BF(22) with us and since we only have the one car for transport back and forth from the villa we all need to go out together. Just want something special or different really. Although having said that everything is special there in a way.

Btw I love that themometer/clock you have and find myself looking for your posts so I can find out what the temperature is there.

As for the humiliation I fully intend mentioning that it's our anniversary and my birthday that's all part of the fun to me! :teeth:

Bump to the top :teeth:

I'm still looking for suggestions everyone. :teeth: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

What about a restaurant in one of the hotels on the monorail route around MK? I haven't tried any but I've read they're quite good, and you may get a view of the fireworks too.

That's a bit vague isn't it - sorry it's late!

Interesting but I don't know which ones they are :confused3 Perhaps someone can fill me in.

Don't worry I quite understand! :teeth:

I'll dig out my Brits Guide and see what the reviews are like for you tomorrow!

I've got a copy of the Brits Guide but not had time to read it properly yet - I've only skimmed it so far (especially since we have over a year before we go). I hadn't noticed anything about which resorts were on the monorail route but it may be I've just not got to that yet. However, thanks - otherwise could you tell me roughly which section it's in and I'll have a look myself to save you the bother. Thanks alot :teeth:

Hotels on the monorail are Grand Floridian, Polynesian and Contmporary.

There is 'Ohana at The Polynesian which serves food family-style and overlooks the Seven Seas Lagoon (and has excellent views of Wishes). They offer 3/4 freshly carved meats on skewers which are carved directly at your table. The atmosphere is excellent.

California Grill at The Contemporary is a little more upscale. They offer a differing menu depending on what ingredients they have. Again, there are wonderful views for Wishes - and they even pipe the Wishes music into the dining room (or atleast they used to).

The Grand Floridian has a couple too - Narcooses etc.

Personally, though, if you want something extra special I would reserve a Wishes or Illuminations Cruise. Magical!

:wizard:

What about Victoria and Alberts at GF. Yes, it's pricey but you are celebrating your Silver Wedding after all, and your b'day of course. If you were to choose this you would need to book at the earliest opportunity.

I would say Victoria and Alberts for a top notch (and price to match!) meal you will remember forever.

'Ohana (at the Poly) is lots of fun for all the family and I can't recommend it enough. We particulary enjoyed the coconut races for adults there :teeth:

The fireworks cruises are great. What we did in December was do a Wishes Cruise and then followed it with a meal at 'Ohana. It was a fabulous night (though extremely cold!)

I would recommend The california Grill at the contemporary. We had a meal here on our honeymoon and it was very special. Watching the fireworks here is fantastic! :flower:

Hi
I think it's all been said!
Brits Guide praises California Grill at the top of the Contemporary and says its one of the most romantic!
It also rates Ohana at the Poly, and top of the range Victoria and Alberts at the Grand Floridian. Also here is Narcoossee's with views over the seven seas lagoon and the nightly Electrical Water Pageant.
Hope this helps!
