Looking For Suggestions For Things To Do With 4-legged Baby Girl!

We want to check in at HRH early, so we can request the 5th floor & have a better chance of getting our request. We'll have Molly with us. Assuming that we can't get into our room until later in the afternoon, we need to find something to do in the area that Molly can participate in. Neither DH nor I can think of anything. Does anyone have any suggestions?

On the topic of doing things with her, is there anyplace to sit near the dog walk area, while we allow her to play for awhile? (still on her leash, of course) We didn't have her the last time we stayed at HRH, & didn't even notice the area set aside as a pet walk.

It would be great if some of you who take your pets along would share what you do with them, while at the resorts. When I ask what you do with them, I don't mean do you leave them in the room or take them to the kennel. I'm looking for things you do together.

I thought that only the first two floors were for pets. The rest of the rooms are pet free right? If that's right then why would you be looking to get a 5th floor room? If I stay in another room that's "pet free" and find a trace of dog I'm going to be pretty ticked!

So nice to wake up to such helpful advice. They're not going to give a pet free room to a pet owner. I can't imagine that anyone would ask them to in the 1st place. Only 2 floors are pet floors, but not the 1st 2.

We've been to all 3 resorts with our yellow lab. We put Destiny in the kennel each morning, went to the parks, came back at noon, and headed back to the hotel. Bring your license to the kennel, and if you have a preferred AP, it's free, otherwise it's $10. You can walk around the lobby, and there is a pet walk area. At the RPR there are benches where you can sit. But at the HRH/PBH, it's just grass along the side of the hotel. If your room is not ready by 1pm after the kennel, then you'll have to walk along the walking paths until it is. Our room became ready at about 2pm for the HRH. For the RPR, we got it at 8am. For the PBH, it was at noon. Try to check in early and your room may be ready.

On this visit, we left Destiny in the room when we went to Margaritaville and she didn't bark. Leave your dog in the room and see if they bark or not. They might be ok if they know you're coming back.

For the HRH, the pet floors are the 1st and 5th floor.

Thanks for the links & info. We left Molly in the room at RPR, & she did fine. When we told the maid that we had a dog in the room, she couldn't believe it. She even asked to come in to see her, then later sent a couple friends to play. Our DS & I always walk on over to the elevator, & my DH hangs back to make sure she's quieted down. One of the reasons we love UO so much is that we can walk to the parks in 10 min. or less. That way, we can check in on her every couple hours.

We didn't have Molly, when we stayed at HRH & PBH, so I didn't know what their dog walks were like. I was hoping to be able to sit & allow her to play, but we'll come up with something.

ETA: I thought the pet floors were 1 & 5. Thanks for confirming it.

I saw that information yesterday when checking out another thread. In the thread it stated that the first 2 floors were pet friendly. That's were my info came from, sorry if it's incorrect.

Last year when we were @ PBH we got stuck in a "pet free" room that people clearly had pets in. Our final proof was when we found dog poo under on of the beds. The carpets had pet stains all over them, and dog hair covered the chairs.

Yes, I admit I can't for the life of me understand why someone would want to bring a DOG (BABIES are human, puppy might be the word your looking for) on vacation. They can't go to the parks or enjoy the restaurants, they just get stuck in crates all day while people take in the fun. If they are not in crates (when alone in the room) then I'm SURE that's when a lot of the acccidents happen. Then when people come in after you they get the left over goodies.

Yes, we have a dog. A sweet little Bassett named Napolean. I can say that he is much, much happier staying @ home in his own place. So plese no flames about me not being a dog lover or something like that. I just realize that dogs are dogs and not people.

I can leave the dog in the room we are lucky cause he's 3 lbs and is puppy pad trained he uses them here so I can leave for 4-5 hours and no problem I leave the tv on and he does't bark I can never put him in the kennel and it would be free he's better in the room himself

I wanted to add that Molly isn't a puppy. Not that it matters, or is anyone's business. She'll be 3 this fall, & has been house trained for quite a while.

my cousin's 2 dogs are so trained they can go for10-12 hours without goning to the bathroom.also if dog poo was under the bed I would complain the room wasn't even cleaned proper. also service dogs are allowed in any hotel so they will be in a room that is pet free also my dog is a baby maybe not a human one but I take him everywhere

Too bad that you feel compelled to push your opinions on others. I don't see anyone else doing that. My patience is really running out here.

You said you have a dog. Do you take it everywhere you go? To keep from leaving it alone, I suppose those in your family take turns going out, so that it's never home alone. Personally, I think it's sad when someone gets a pet, then treats it like "it's just a dog." My DS is treated very well, & so is my "4 legged baby girl". We wouldn't have gotten her, if we were only going to love her 1/2 way.

I can't tell the difference .I love my baby just like my adult babies. can't tell they are 20 and 22 still think they are my babies. also my dog rode in an ambulance when my daughter and my baby got into a car accident last month went to the emergency room with us and was by my side in his small cage. the police officer said 1st time he saw a dog go in an ambulance . doctor said I think he has to stay in the cage but the nursers took him out and kept him in a blanket. can't wait to take him to the RPR and walk him all around the resort he will love it he loves the jersey shore and the condos he stays in people say no problem come back and bring the baby oops mean dog.can't wait to take him to disney in ca. the anaheim hilton loves pets and I think he will love san diego. he loved the beach in sarasota

It all depends on the people at the pool. You could try to bring your pet, and lay on a lounge chair far away. There is a beach area, with chairs in the back. We got away with it at the PBH, so you could try at the RPR and see what happens.
