Just returned from the World 2/10. On a boat trip from VWL to CR for dinner,
our boat pilot announced that the building under construction will be the
newest DVC at Disney. Hope this is accurate for all your CRV wishers out
there.![]()
Conventions!
CR actually has a decent convention business (or at least it used to...) and those folks are on expense accounts!
Read about this article on another site and looked it up for myself. I'd say CRV is going to happen and the Treehouses will be part of SSR too. The numbers make sense.

And in a recent filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Disney, which has built about 2,400 time-share units at eight resorts, revealed that it has about 680 more under construction at Disney World.
Disney has only publicly acknowledged one ongoing time-share construction project in Orlando: Kidani Village, an extension of the partially completed Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas. That project is expected to have 340 units when finished in spring 2009 -- leaving another 340 or so unaccounted for.
Construction records for the Contemporary expansion call for 295 three-bedroom suites. Some could be sold as separate two- and one-bedroom units.
The difference between the 295 expected units at CRV and the 340 or so number is likely the 60 or so units at the treehouses.
Actually, AKV when completed, will have over 700 units, some in Jambo House, but most in Kidani Village....so the 680 under costruction figure could be all Animal Kingdom.
Isn't Jambo house complete? The 680 is supposed to be additional construction, so I don't think that would include the Jambo units. I really hope we see CRV and the treehouses. I would like to stay at both!![]()

they can't do this unless they make some handicapped accessible. the plans that were shown - were not!
the design bears no likeness to SSR or OKW - so could not be added to those resorts.
well maybe Disney could - since it is LBV. but since DVC has several handicapped members I would think they would fight it.

Oh yes. Disney executives contact the Boat Drivers and give them "confidential" information before making public announcements. After all we all know boat drivers, bus drivers etc can keep a secret!![]()
sorry but we left our camera in our luggage at the bellstand.disfountainofyouth,
Which floor were they up to on your visit? Do you have a picture to share with us?

Actually I think they could get away with these NOT being handicapped accessible. There are some loopholes. ONe is that Disney/DVC has a "total" hotel room population that meets the needs. This is the exact same reason they aren't in trouble for no accessible studio at AKV Concerige.
It's the same with the rides. They don't all have to be fully accessible. For example, you can't get wheelchair on Space Mt, but it's not "breaking the law"
are any of the concierge AKV handicapped accessible?
