I am in the process of planning our first family WDW trip. I have been before but it was many years ago. We are going as a family ( we have a 2 year old and a 4 year old) but grandma is coming along and has offered to watch the children some evenings. So on that note what should me and DH do in the evenings?! We rarely get out as it is with 2 small ones and him being military, so I would like to do something memorable while we are there. Neither of us are big drinkers ( I do like a glass of wine here and there though ) I'm a disney fanatic, he has never been so he hasn't experienced the magic. Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated!

1st, make sure grandma has eaten dinner before you go out :)

( I do like a glass of wine here and there though )

Epcot- You can have a nice glass of wine almost anywhere around World Showcase and enjoy a nice stroll walking in and out of the pavilions glancing at the merchandise, scenery, people, etc

Downtown Disney- Has a few things to do for adults, but for music two come to mind, House of Blues has live music, Raglan Road Irish Pub & Bar has live music

Just two quick ideas to share with you

Enjoy your trip

hahaha well yes of course grandma and children will be fed before we head off, I'm sure my boys will be fast asleep as well from the fun filled day at Disney!
Thanks for the ideas, I think that House of Blues sounds really great. I am going to most definitely look into that!

I am definitely a big fan of the nighttime shows at Disney like Illuminations, MSEP, and Wishes. When I have gone with my boyfriend we would usually get a really tasty treat either from the WS at Epcot or Main Street Bakery if we were at MK, then we find a nice spot to watch the evening entertainment. If it's still early yet, we will stroll around the parks.

Another option would maybe be to plan a nice dinner at (for example) the Poly and then stay to watch the Wishes fireworks from the beach.

DTD is nice, especially if you like to stroll around and check out some good restaurants and stores. That's not everyone's thing though so it would really depend on what your DH would enjoy.

to cover many options, I say epcot. Pick a nice dinner spot, view the nights fireworks show, liesurely wander the shops and if you are into music take to boat over to the boardwalk and have a stroll the boardwalk there and visit jellyrolls for and evening of music at the pianno bar.

Top of the line dinner at V&A in the GF, is a very very nice option.
Dancing at Alantic Dance on the Boardwalk.

cirque

check out the concerts at house of blues

jellyrolls

a late dinner just the two of you at a nice non character venue

have a glass of wine or snack or whatever and stroll/shop world showcase

hit one of the parks with emh and ride the rides you can't do with ones as young as yours (rockin roller coaster etc... you guys be the kids for an hour or two)

hang out and have tapas and drinks at one of the lounges (especially those with entertainment can be fun)

my husband got us snacks and a bottle of wine, grabbed a towel from pool side and we watched fireworks once from the beach at the gf and once at the poly

fireworks cruise

You don't have to be a drinker to enjoy it...we weren't. It's fun just to sit back and sing a long with the songs. The dueling piano players are awesome! Seemed like any genre they could and did manage with ease! We had a great time just relaxin when we were there last June.
