We are going to DLP for our first time in August of this year. I understand it will be crowded, however we have to go in the summer due to my kids being in high school and college. I am pretty sure I have the parks covered on where to go and what to do first. We are staying at SL, GF lake view, I also purchased full board, I know it is a lot of food, but we will have long days and space our meals out and I figured this would alleviate having to pay for these out of pocket. So with that said how much money, Euro's would you think one would need? I am assuming I would only need Euro's for tips and to purchase a drink here or there if needed? My intentions for purchases in shops would be to use a credit card, that is if they accept credit cards from the United States, I have read different reports about it being difficult. I have one that does not charge international fees. Do the hotels allow you to charge on a card like they do at WDW and DL, room key, magic band? I know there are not magic bands at DLP but that is what you can use to charge on at WDW. Is there something similar that we can charge on and then just have it applied to a CC? If so can you put tips on it and all other purchases? We will be there for a full 6 days so any other suggestions would be welcome, just concerned about how to handle the money issues. TIA!

Hi, yes you can leave your credit card details at the hotel reception and you'll be given an Easypass. You can use this throughout the resort to charge any purchases, with the exception of the carts around the park. Works really well and means you only have one transaction fee (if applicable) when you check out. You can keep track of purchased on your hotel room tv. Other than that, as you say it's just money for drinks/snacks and any small purchases you want.

The easypass also gives you early morning access to the parks (EMH) between 8am and 10am as you're a hotel guest.

Any other questions please shout :goodvibes

Just a heads up tipping is not expected like in the US as service is included

Yes also to echo you don't need to tip.

So all you need € for is drinks/snacks and souvenirs.

I just returned from a 7 day trip - I was travelling from China and had a Chinese bank card (which I was not able to use to get Euros at the ATM at DLRP) plus my US Credit Cards. So I just gave my CC details to the hotel, used my easy pass to charge to my hotel. I got 100 euros at the ATM with my US debit card and that's really all I needed even for such a long trip - but I was only one person.

Thank you for the info, this helps a lot!

I should have asked, were there any issues using your US credit cards at the hotel? I keep seeing all they except are the chip and pin cards, which my CC do not have yet, only one that is chip only. Thanks!

I was able to use my US Credit Card at the hotel with no problems - I was also able to use my US debit card at the ATM machine at Disneyland Resort. The only issue with not having a chip and pin card is when collecting my TGV train tickets at Charles de Gualle - you can collect them at a machine with a chip and pin card - but I had to go to the ticket office to "swipe" my card.

Great thank you that was my biggest concern!
