One of my co-workers has told me about how much her two kids (2 and 5) love these books and I would love to buy them for my 2-year-old granddaughter, but am looking for the best deal or prices on them. Any sugggestions?

She loves having boosk read over and over to her, so the library, while a short-term option, is something I've considered, but I would rather she have her own personal books.

Thanks! :)

I love these books. I would think Amazon or the books stores would have them. Good luck.

Yes Amazon has them....plus I think if you order 2 items you get free shipping. My stuff from Amazon comes very quickly.

Do you have any local libraries or hospitals that run used book stores? We have 3 in my neighborhood that I go to. Children's books are fifty cents and I often hit half price day. I was able to get my nephew 4 whole series (including Diary of a Wimpy Kid) that he loved for a small fraction of the cost. At those prices I would also grab and extra book or two to see if I could hook him on other series. He reads like a fish swims!

Scholastic books sell the Skippijohn Jones book through book fairs at the school (or pre-school) and you can specifically order from them. The books are mostly paperbacks, which means a huge cost savings for you. My kids love the Leetle Bandito Skipito!

I'm seeing a great deal on Scholastic with their Honeybee Book Club of 4 of the books for $14, but I'm guessing it's only available through schools or maybe a daycare center. Drat! She's in neither.

What a great price though for someone else!

Love those Leetle Bandito Skipito books too. :thumbsup2 I am a teacher....but I only substitute now..... so I get to read a lot of cool/fun books where I work. :goodvibes

For books, the best price comparison engine on the web is www.AddAll.com

Plug the keywords into the search engine and it will hunt down a LOT of online dealers for you, both used and new.

These are great books, our dd10 use to love these, we even named our cat Skippy (it is a siamese of course!) I saw a good deal at Borders, it had several of the different books in one. GL

Overstock.com is almost always cheaper than Amazon. and any order ships for $2.95, no matter what you order! The savings isn't huge by comparison, but worth looking into.

Check your local Goodwill or Salvation Army stores as well. We found one there in great condition and got it for a quarter. My dd just loves it. Also check the halfprice book stores if you have them in your area.

We got all of ours from the Scholastic book orders. Like a pp mentioned they were much cheaper becasue they were paperback.

Amazon has a section for every item that is through their marketplace. I have sold copies of those books through it and some bulk sellers charge less than a dollar. I would check that out. Plus, Amazon has a great guarantee program and they are very strict with their sellers. I know Overstock has some great shipping prices, etc. but I trust Amazon.

Good Luck! They are great books!

I teach in a preschool and the kids love these books. We have found that they really enjoy listening to the CD along with looking at the books. The reader on the CD does the accent way better then I could on my best day;)They just laugh and laugh...so much fun!

My son loved these books. We did get them through his school's scholastic book club at the time but you can order books from scholastic.com you don't need to be a teacher. Anyone can order from their site. Hope you can still find them there.

If I'm looking for books that aren't brand new, my first stop is usually BookCloseouts.com. They generally sell remaindered books (with the black marker stripe along the page edges) or slightly damaged books (for instance a hardcover with a missing or ripped dustjacket, or a book that is slightly shelf worn). It's always obvious from the listing if it's a slightly damaged book or not. If you search for "skippyjon jones" it looks like they've got quite a few of the books at 50% or more off the cover price.

OP we have 2 of these books and I'd be more than happy to send them to you. My DD9 has outgrown them and I've been working on getting rid of stuff. PM me your address if you're interested!

Check Borders. They have a real nice one that is a large edition, on clearance for I think around 8 dollars. We have all the books, they are great. my kids read different parts in accents. And I have teens, and they love them!!
