hi all-
we are VERY interested in purchasing a DVC for ourselves. we looked into this only recently and missed all of the neat incentives that disney was offering until yesterday. another option we are mulling is resale; we could very much get by on less than the 160 points disney requires. we will only go once a year or once every other, and we would not be needing a grand villa :) .

there have gotta be some of you out there who did purchase resale through TTS and had a great (or not so great experience). i would love some advice or feedback or suggestions that you are willing to share...

THANKS!

I sent you a PM. Once you purchase there really isn't anything different about the ownership. Disney treats all owners exactly the same. Just in case you were wondering.

We are in the process of buying 100 OKW points from TTS. We just passed ROFR today and everything has gone smooth so far.

TTS is great. I just closed on 50 HHI points last week. They are easy to deal with and get back to you within minutes of sending them an email. Took 5 weeks from the time I made the offer until I got the closing docs.

I didn't need to start out with 160 points either. The 50 point contract had 2007 points. I won't need more points for a couple of years. At that point I will buy another 100. I paid cash for the 50 points now and plan on paying cash when I need more. If I had gone through Disney I would have had to purchase more points then I need now plus pay finance and MF on those points that I don't need for a couple more years.

As sellers we had a great experience with them and this time around also has been very good too.Always always able to speak to someone if it is not who your rep is they will always connect you to someone that will be able to help.

are there any other companies besides TTS who conduct dvc resales and if so, does anyone have any experience with them??

how long does the entire process take when dealing with a resale company?

thanks again.

We bought through TTS and were very pleased with the service we received.

I bought through TTS and had a great experience. I only needed 100 points so resale was a perfect fit for me. There are other places that will sell DVC (a quick internet search and you will find them). I went with TTS because they had what I was looking for and had a good history/reputation.

It took us about 2 months. We used GMAC and everything went fine, however, there have been others who had issues with them.

We purchased twice and had no problems what so ever. However , we both found it curious that after we purchased from TTS we begab and get calls from companies continuously asking us if we want to sell our points.

I purchased through TSS last yr.....very good experience.
My buyer accepted my bid on 12-27....pretty sure I had my points by
march 1st.

Hi,

We bought resales from GMAC. We bought two DVC resales in late 2007 from GMAC and both were super easy, no issues, great price, and fast.

We made the offer and heard the same day that they were excepted.
ROFR with Disney was maybe 1-2 weeks
Contracts / Closing maybe a week or two.

All in all less than four weeks, I do not remember exactly. It depends on how long you take to sign the contracts and send the money, as well as how long it takes the other party to sign the contracts. But everything for us went smoothly from step to step. Then Disney sends you the DVC cards and you are booking your first stay.

We purchased a resale using TTS and couldn't be happier with the service from Jerry (and Tom.) We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or use them again! :thumbsup2

We had an issue getting into DVC system (some DVC computer problem) and Jerry at TTS even called to check the following week to make sure that everything got entered into DVC system and that we were able to make reservations. They get A+ in my book.

Closed last month with Timeshare Store with Jerry. I would definitly recommend using them. Great service. :thumbsup2

Chalk me up as another happy TTS customer.

One piece of advice, try not to buy resale in the late 3rd or 4th quarter.
There will be delays due to DVC processing dues, etc.

We have use the TSS to purchase and to sell
Jamie was Great as well as the entire staff!

By the way the "incentives" the OP asked about were extended if they still want to purchase directly from Disney.
