Looking for recomendations...

Love Tennesee we try to make the smokies, pigeon forge/gatlinburg every couple of years!!!

Tungpo...these are the first pics Ive ever seen of PigeonForge other than the commercial photos on line.....they look GREAT, definately worth the trip. You ever get a chance to do any fishing there? How is it...not that it matters,as soon as I throw a line in the water, all the little frickers pull out there picket signs and dare the other fish to cross the line, ya'd think they're in the teamsters or something...I never catch anything...but theres something about dangling a hook in the water that makes me feel like Im supposed to be doing it more often, maybe its the beer makin me feel that:drinking: !!

There is a state park in Georgia called Moccasin Creek State Park. The sites are not very big but it is located in The Chattahoochee National Forest and has a nice 2 mile trail to a waterfall. You can bass or trout fish and there is also a trout fish farm located on the property. There is also a National Forest campground very near to Moccasin called Wild Cat Creek. While you don't have to use leaves it does only have toliets that are one step up from a pit toliet and no other hook ups. Another good Georgia state park is Unicoi State Park.

Never had a chance to do any fishing. It was the first time my girls seen snow so I showed them how to make a good snow ball. One thing lead to another and everyday there was a snow ball fight LOL!!!!!

We stayed at Cloud Canyon State park in GA just at the border of TN near ChattanOOOOOOga. It was spectacular, and if you want to do any townie day trips, there's a ton of stuff to do there (SEE ROCK CITY)

Gaitlinburg is beautiful and Pigeon Forge is becoming a regular Branson, Missouri! Dolly Wood is an old Silver Dollar City-very fun! That area is full of people, though. There are many places in the Smokies and Blue Ridge Mountains that are peaceful and beautiful. Another really fun place to take the family is Damascus, VA. There are better campgrounds right over the boarder in TN, though. DON'T stay in the Iron Horse Camground in Damascus!!!!! Very bad! We camped with a group, and one unfortunate member of our party ended up with an ugly infection from the bath house:eek: ! I do digress, anyway, there is a wonderful 'rails to trails' program that has taken old railroad tracks and turned them into bike trails. The one that goes thru Damascus is a gently sloping and beautiful 17 mile trail that follows a river and bluffs, called The Virginia Creeper. It is very do-able, even for my 6 yr old, who did it when she was 5.

I have more pictures!

This is in North Georgia - Blairsville, to be exact.

There are a TON of hiking trails within easy drive & lots of them have waterfalls. This area is the southern most point of the Appalachian Trail & on the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is a beautiful drive any time of the year.

Check it out...

BDR...The park in Fl. where the manatee hang out is Blue Springs State Park. It is between Deland and Orange City. 40 miles from WDW. WE use to live there. On your upcoming trip do you want quiet and fishing. Or do you want busy, hustle and bustle?

Pigeon forge is near Gatlinburg is near the Great Smokey Mountains Park. Lots of campgrounds in the area. I live about 100 miles from there. Dollywood is in Pigeon Forge..lots of things to do, but not "peaceful". If you want peaceful, choose Gatlinburg or Cosby, TN. Check out www.rvparkreviews.com

River Plantation is a nice campground in Pigeon Forge

http://www.smokybearcampground.com/ is a nice smallish campground in the peaceful side of Gatlinburg. Lots of hiking in the Smokies!! PM if any questions.

DD6 just looked at the 1st pic and said, "My hair is on fire!"

It really wasn't~just an orange hair tie and perfect flame placement!

That is too funny, it does look like it is on fire. What a cute group of girls. What an unbelievable campground! I will have to try and take a trip there someday. Gorgeous!

I prefer quiet (due to usual hangovers) and fishing, because I can sleep and feel like I tried to catch something!!!

Our 3 favorite places in Tn. , 1. Defeated Creek Campground on Cordell Hull Lake ,it's a COE Park. Great campground, good fishing. www.recreation.gov 2. Birdsong Resort on Kentucky Lake, private campground. Okay campground, GREAT fishing. www.birdsongresort.com 3. Loretta Lynns ranch campground on Hurricane Creek. Private campground. It's a good campground. Good fishing ( trout) Lots to do for the kids. www.lorettalynn.com The last two take Good Sams Club.

we stayed at the rivers edge in pigeon forge about 2 years ago. It was at the very edge of P.F before you head towards gatlinburg. It was quiet, off the main street alittle but still ok, I am a very restless sleeper and had no problems here. Its right beside a creek. they had the nicest bath houses I had ever seen.
