looking for place to order gift baskets?

Hi all,

I am looking for a website to order gift baskets for the holidays, specifically one with some Italian meats/cheeses to send to a BIL in TX that can't get those sort of items there.

I am also looking to send a little gift basket to a family that I don't really know. I am a penpal to their son who is in Iraq and won't be home for the holidays (he should be home in January). Just want to send them something to let them know that I am thinking about them, any ideas?

I've been looking for gift basket options and did a search. There were lots of options. One site I found allows you to make your own basket. I haven't tried them but love some of their options. They have food and other type baskets to choose from. They also have free standard shipping.

I second winecountry gift baskets. My company ordered one last year for all of us to try out before they ordered them for our clients. The products were excellent and they have lots to choose from. I believe we're using them again this year, and I have friends who have ordered them for friends and relatives with great success.

You could send his family a holiday dessert from swisscolony or figi's - just do a google search for the appropriate URL's. You can specify when to ship the item and include a personal note that will be printed on the shipping label - as well as ship it as a gift so costs won't be marked on the package. Both sites have AWSOME "baklava" - a favorite Middle Eastern dessert;o)

Overstocks has free shipping on baskets today and I saw some from that Wine Country catalog on there.. check it out and see if anything works because the prices look great.

Yes these are not budget baskets though. I have sent these to special people and they have LOVED them. The only problem with the wine baskets is that they can ship to a very small % of states- too bad or else more on my list would get these- they were beautiful!

I would have to disagree with Java...they have lots of wonderful items under $30 and $40. In addition, the reason they can't ship wine baskets to every states is b/c many states don't ALLOW interstate wine shipments. Many are starting to come around (like TX..woohoo!! I think sometime next year?), but that's state law, not Wine Country Gift Baskets or any retailers fault.

Though where in Texas is your brother? Central Market and Whole Foods both have great Italian Meats and Cheeses (ok, so they're $$$...but still good ) If he's near Dallas, Houston, San Antonio or Austin he can get to any of those.

I am not quite sure that I understand you. I want to SEND a basket to my BIL in Pflugerville, TX, someplace close to Austin, I don't want him to have to pick it up (does that make sense)? What is Central Market and Whole foods? Do they have websites? Thanks for your help.
