The above posters all offered a great variety of perspectives, and I'll just add my 2 cents worth....
We find that our preference of
DVC resort also has a lot to do with the time of year or special events happening while we are visiting, as well as the composition of our group and our touring plans.
We love the space at OKW, and when we drove down with a large group, we were SOOO comfortable there, and as Dean mentioned, the advantage of a vehicle for alternate transportation was a plus. Although, we have always found the bus transportation there terrific, and don't mind the drive as much as the many stops made on some of the other bus routes. Some year we plan to go to OKW and just relax - maybe not do any parks, or maybe take every other day and see SeaWorld or US & IOA (gasp!).
Next time the Christmas decor is up, or we go with our young niece, we'll definitely go to VWL for the decorations and the proximity to MK. The boat rides are wonderful, including taking the boat from WL to CR, then riding the monorail.
During the Food and Wine Festival last year we tried BCV and LOVED it!!! When I wanted to run over to the WS and pick up a souvenier at Japan, it literally took me 10 minutes to walk there from our room. I also hope someday to go to WDW during the Flower & Garden festival, and will certainly stay at BWV or BCV. Either choice is terrific for people who love Epcot and MGM and might wish to center their vacation around those two.
Now we just wish they'd build a DVC resort near Animal Kingdom, so we could have proximity to that wonderful park!!!
So far as comfort, I'd have to say that with a large group, I'd go for the spaciousness of OKW, but then, we did cook some meals during our stay and spent a bit of time enjoying the HUGE balcony. OTOH, when it has just been DH & me (sometimes with my Mom, too), BWV & BCV have always been roomy enough to be totally comfy. I should add that we have always had at least a 1BR, and have not yet tried a studio.
Hope this helps, and enjoy your first trip "home"!
