of each resort. WE have purchased BCV's, but have never been to it or any of the other DVC's. I was wondering if you would share your opinions of each one. I'm particularly interested in knowing if one is more comfortable then the other, one more exciting then the other etc. Do you knnow what I mean? Do you feel lilke you're at home or on vacation? Thanks !

One of my favorite things about VWL is the theming. It probably doesn't have the 'action' of BCV or BWV, but between the theming, restaurants, quiet pool, and other amenities, it is so nice we could likely make VWL/WL a vacation all by itself!...

We have stayed at all the on-site resorts - each is wonderful and you can't go wrong. Below is a pro and con of each:

1) OKW -
Pro - Great layout: huge rooms, very relaxed and parking and entrance very close to room.
Con - Location: very removed from activities, always a trip to do something.

2) BWV -
Pro - Excellent location: lots to do and very close to two parks.
Con - Crowds: lots of people and some noise, pools and some views are marginal.

3) VWL -
Pro - Atmosphere: wonderful decorating, the very best at Christmas. Also close to MK.
Con - Not much, other than maybe location compared to BWV and BCV

4) BCV -
Pro - Location and Pool: location is almost as good as BWV and the pool, not my favorite, but most people love the pool.
Con - Location/Views: most rooms either face the parking lot or a road(that is very close), kinda detracts from the atmosphere.

All of the resorts are different and what I prefer may not be the same as you prefer. In general it depends on whether you will have a car, how much action you like, preferred parks and the ages of any children. If you don't have a car, you may not want to do OKW. I guess you will have to visit them all then decide what you like. Just remember to make a home resort reservation at the 11 months window then you can change to the preferred resort at 7 months out if available. Good luck and enjoy.

The above posters all offered a great variety of perspectives, and I'll just add my 2 cents worth....

We find that our preference of DVC resort also has a lot to do with the time of year or special events happening while we are visiting, as well as the composition of our group and our touring plans.

We love the space at OKW, and when we drove down with a large group, we were SOOO comfortable there, and as Dean mentioned, the advantage of a vehicle for alternate transportation was a plus. Although, we have always found the bus transportation there terrific, and don't mind the drive as much as the many stops made on some of the other bus routes. Some year we plan to go to OKW and just relax - maybe not do any parks, or maybe take every other day and see SeaWorld or US & IOA (gasp!).

Next time the Christmas decor is up, or we go with our young niece, we'll definitely go to VWL for the decorations and the proximity to MK. The boat rides are wonderful, including taking the boat from WL to CR, then riding the monorail.

During the Food and Wine Festival last year we tried BCV and LOVED it!!! When I wanted to run over to the WS and pick up a souvenier at Japan, it literally took me 10 minutes to walk there from our room. I also hope someday to go to WDW during the Flower & Garden festival, and will certainly stay at BWV or BCV. Either choice is terrific for people who love Epcot and MGM and might wish to center their vacation around those two.

Now we just wish they'd build a DVC resort near Animal Kingdom, so we could have proximity to that wonderful park!!!

So far as comfort, I'd have to say that with a large group, I'd go for the spaciousness of OKW, but then, we did cook some meals during our stay and spent a bit of time enjoying the HUGE balcony. OTOH, when it has just been DH & me (sometimes with my Mom, too), BWV & BCV have always been roomy enough to be totally comfy. I should add that we have always had at least a 1BR, and have not yet tried a studio.

Hope this helps, and enjoy your first trip "home"!

Congrats on your BCV purchase!

Our family loves BCV - always have ever since our first visit over 10 years ago.

We own at OKW, purchased sight unseen and are extremely happy with it.

So far, over the past 3 years, through DVC we've stayed at OKW, BCV, VWL, and HH - loved them all in one way or another, except for HH (most likely due to a bad experience).

In any case, all of the WDW properties have their benefits in my view and owning at one location is just as good as owning at any other. Over time, you will have no problem making reservations at the 7 month window to stay at all the locations and will particularly like some aspects of some more than others.

Enjoy!
