Looking for opinions on Star Island Resort...

Hi all. We may have a chance to stay at Star Island Resort & Club (I think that's the full name). I'd be grateful for any comments, good or bad please. Is it kid friendly? As nice as their website makes it to be? Good pool? Thanks!

I have a friend who stays there she loves it,

don't buy a timeshare in Orlando - they are too easy to trade into.

but somewhere else - get a great bargin and trade to Orlando.

Orlando timeshares are some of the best - and will continue to be - they have to be their competition is

If you are looking at a timeshare to buy go look at Disney - yes I know it is more expensive (unless you are buying from the developer - then the prices are close) - but believe me staying on property vs staying off - is something you can't believe.

Disney holds it value - other timeshares are availability on the resale market for 70% of what you pay the developer for it.

My DW and I stayed at Star Island in 2001 and liked it very much! We didn't have our DD with us, but it looked like they had some planned activities for the children. The pool was very nice, I think, but we never did use it. Make sure you at least get a one bedroom condo and not a studio though. The studio would be very small with kids. We had to do the timeshare presentation there and we thought there was no pressure to buy at all, but that could have changed since then too. The location is OK, but when we were there they were working on 192 and it took forever to get to WDW, but then we found a back way and it was much faster. Now that 192 is finished, you shouldn't have any problems getting there. All in all we liked it just fine!
