Vegetarian Shepherd's Pie, Rose & Crown
Multigrain Pasta Primavera, Tony's Town Square

Thanks!

I have travelled with a vegetarian in my past two trips and she enjoyed the shepherd's pie at rose and crown. We both really liked the options at Boma, both vegetarian and not.

Both the Vegetarian Shepherd's Pie and Multigrain Pasta Primavera are great. I haven't had the Fried Green Tomatoes.

Boma is the best buffet to go to if you are Veg! There are so many options.

The Wave (at the Contemporary resort) has a great Veggie Cuban Sandwich. Via Napoli (in Italy) has delicious veggie pizzas. The Plaza Restaurant (on Main Street USA) has a tasty tofu sandwich. I also love the veggie burgers at Pollo Campero (at Downtown Disney Marketplace), which also features a vegan bakery.

Another DTD favorite of mine is Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe's Pumpkin Ravioli. Just be sure to let them know you want it prepared vegetarian, because they typically boil it in broth and use port wine glaze that isn't veg. They put a balsamic glaze on mine instead :) Wolfgang's veggie sushi is delicious and not too expensive.

Thanks for all the great sites....I'm making a list of all the parks and recommended place I can eat on our next trip. Thanks for all the great tips!

I agree that Boma is a veggie's paradise. I also suggest Kona Cafe in the Poly. They have an amazing Pan Asian noodle dish there. It comes with meat, but I always get it without. They offer to serve it with tofu as well. :cloud9:

ETA - bonus yummy at Kona - the bread!!

Thanks so much for the input. We do love Boma, but this trip we will be eating at Tusker House instead, which is another fantastic buffet for vegetarians.

Now, has anybody had those fried green tomatoes from Trail's End?

Willa,

When you get back from your trip, could your post your impressions of the vegetarian fare on this thread?

Have a great time!

Adam

A couple of weeks ago, I had the vegetarian pot pie at Liberty Tree Tavern, which was very flavorful & filling. I also had the veggie burger at Cosmic Ray's which I really enjoyed. My dh had the Ethiopian vegetarian entree at Jiko, and didn't miss the meat at all; I had the Jiko salad as an appetizer, which was delicious (but does include cheese, I believe). And neither of us are vegetarians.

Just throwing out a couple of other options for you!

I didn't know they had a veggie pot pie anywhere at WDW! Those are so rare, I am going to have to stop in and try one on my next trip. Thanks!

Thanks, I appreciate that!

Would you mind describing the Ethiopian dish your DH had at Jiko? I'm not familiar with that.

Tangierine Cafe, Morocco, World Showcase. If you like Mediterranean, the vegetable platter has hummus, tabouleh, couscous with currants and cinnamon, bread, green salad -- and the baklava has no animals in it either (unless they crawled in on their own...).

Here's the description from the menu - it's three small preparations:
Aleecha, Shimbra Asa, and Inguday Tibs with Goat Cheese Cream

Ethiopian Vegetable “Stack”, Chickpea Cake, and Spiced Mushroom-Spinach Roll 26.00

Also, if you look at Disney's official site under Jiko, there is apparently a full vegetarian and a full vegan menu.

OP here, back from my trip.

I only managed to try one of the three entrees while I was there, and it was the Fried Green Tomatoes at Trail's End. We actually completely forgot our ADR at Tony's and ate counter service that day, and we cancelled our Rose and Crown in favor of going back for a second meal at Via Napoli!

To hear about the Fried Green Tomatoes, what was so good about Via Napoli, and lots of other veggie dining, come check out the thread I have just started over on the Restaurant Review board, "Two Vegetarians Waxing Lyrical - a January 2011 QSDP Review". Hope to see you all over there!
