We moved to TN 9 yrs ago and are making our first trip back to CA. I am looking for a hotel/motel next to Disneyland/CA Adventures. It has been so long since we have been there I'm sure things have changed so much. Thanks you all your help!:)

If you scroll thru the previous posts on this board, this topic was just discussed!

I know a lot of people like the Candy Cane Inn, but there are other motels that are listed.

The Fairfield Inn is less then a 5 minute walk to DL/ DCA main gates. The service is excellent, the
rooms very good size and clean. Ours also had a small refridgerator. McDonald's and Millie's Family Style restaurant are also on property. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I was very impressed with the Howard Johnson Plaza. I had a very large and attractive room (two queen beds, separate vanity outside the bathroom, refrigerator, large closet, private balcony) for a very reasonable price (either $69 or $79 a night--can't remember which--in June). The only possible drawback is that it's a 5-10 minute walk to the main gate. I didn't mind the walk at all, but if you have young children or really out of shape adults in your party, it could be a deterrent. The hotel is part of the shuttle service, and those buses run fairly frequently.

We recently stayed at the Candy Cane Inn and we all enjoyed it. The rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable and noise was never an issue. Our room had an iron, refrigerator and coffee maker. The pool and spa are small but very pretty and the breakfast each morning was nice. There is a laundry onsite too. The hotel shuttle runs regularly but the entrance area to the parks is an easy walk IMO. The best part was the friendliness of the staff and the very reasonable room rate. We also purchased our park hoppers at the front desk and received a good discount for our son's ticket. I don't know if this discount is a regular thing though.

I took a trip to Disneyland with my best friend in April, and we stayed at the Anabella Hotel on Katella. It was pretty nice and close enough to walk. It also has a shuttle. Then, this July, we stayed at the Anaheim Hilton, which is fancier. It's too far to walk, but there is a shuttle that comes every 20 minutes. But nothing beats the Disneyland Hotel!:jester:
