HI guys, right now I've been working with a really crappy 4 mp Kodak P&S...I'd like to get a better one and I've been looking at canons..I've got 2 models in mind in my price range I'm looking at and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on them?
1 --PowerShot SD770 IS (this is 10 mpx)
2 --PowerShot SD1100IS (this is 8)

pros/cons?

The MPs would be one of the last things I considered. In fact, I would likely lean towards the lower one. What other features are different between the two? The SD series do not have many manual features if that is important to you.

I have the Canon SD1100 IS. This is a great little camera. Love how fast it snaps pictures. Tons of settings that are fun and simple to use. This is the camera I carry with me for unexpected picture opportunities such as seeing a rainbow on the way to work, someone unexpected, etc...Its small size is also very convenient. I keep it in my purse. the battery lasts a long time. I have the pink one, But also love the other colors that are available. I don't know how to post pictures, or I would. I have a Canon Rebel XT for other uses. I have really enjoyed the little camera though. I am pretty hard to please when it comes to point and shoot. I also like the fact that you can fix the red eye in the camera and not have to wait until I am ready to print it to correct the red eyes. I don't know anything about the other camera though to compare the 2. Hope my opinion helps a little. Oh, when this camera first came out, it sold for about $250. Now what a bargain at around $150!

they seem to be pretty similar as far as other features are concerned. As far as manual features...I'd assume they at least have all the stuff my Kodak P&S has(it's an LS743). I'm just looking for a little bit better p&s...one question if anyone knows....it seems like none of the small canon p&s have an action mode, or am I just not seeing one when I take a look?

Action mode is probably Sports mode on a Canon. If the small size is not why you are looking at the SD line, then I recommend the Canon "A" line instead. They are a little larger (not much) but offer many more features IMO. They are also typically cheaper.
