Hi- can anyone tell me the best character meal for an upclose and personal experience with Mickey Mouse? Also, my son want desperately to see BUZZ LIGHTYEAR. Anyone know where he can be found in the park or at any hotels etc? Going 1st week of March. Thanks!

Mickey can often be found in Town Square, but a sure bet is at his house in Toontown. Buzz can be found at Club Buzz in Tomorrowland. Check your times guide for when because that one is listed.

Mickey does not come to any of the character meals. The only thing I know of that he does come to is the Birthday celebration at the plaza inn. I'm sorry I dont have times or prices, you would have to call vacation planning. I'm also not sure if you get to interact with him or if he just comes in to wish everyone a happy day. I do know that for the price you get to decorate a cake and there is some games and things.

You can always visit him at this house. If you have Toon Town Madness passes, use them! It will shorten the wait time, and your likely to see him outside rather then just in the studio. We often see him near the hat shop on main street.

We saw Buzz at Club Buzz -- which is a covered but open "dance club" for Buzz and his friends. The characters dance with the kids. It was cute (plus it wasn't crowded when we were there so it looked like lots of fun for the kids).

I don't know about DisneyWorld, but Disneyland is too girl-oriented. Disney being Disney, I'd guess they have research a mile long saying people are willing to pay much more for a princess meal than a Mickey and friends meal. I just don't understand this.

I have zero demand for princess meals. Unless they were offering them free, that is...I'll take most anything if it's free.

I'm sure lots of families that have only boys, and some that have both boys and girls, feel the same way.

I am so glad we went last year when they still had Mickey and friends at Ariel's. I've said it here repeatedly over the past 6 months...this is one of the main reasons our next Disney trip will be east instead of west!

If fans would write letters expressing their desire for a Mickey and friends meal, I think you'd see one return.

I have 2 boys, no girls as well, and I know what you are saying.
It's a little better at WDW, but still more tilted toward girls than boys. I think all marketing in this country is, tho. In any case, Chef Mickey's in WDW gives you breakfast with the classic characters: Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Chip & Dale. There are options at the AKL for meals with Lion King Characters.
I agree with you about Mickey and Friends coming to DL, tho...I was surprised to see how very limited the Character meal options are there.

Last May we ate at Ariel's in CA and Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip & Dale were there. Has this changed?

Ariels Grotto is now the 5 princesses. Arile, Belle, Snow White, Aurora, Cinderella. Have done it and it was fun. But we were all girls going with a 4 yr old Prince as they called him.

That is a bummer. We have had very good meals at Ariels but I doubt my ds6 would care about princesses or would my dd10. Now.. if the princesses were being chased by any star wars character he'd have a great time lol.
Does anyone have suggestions for a good place to sit down and eat in CA?

Actually, I am looking for Mickey for A GIRL! But, even at 6 years old, she is intelligent enough to know that a giant mouse in white gloves is more realistic than a room full of princesses who enjoy each others company! I am proud.
