Ok so i am very familiar with the dining plan and love it. The DDP is a great value to us as we do TS dinners every day. Now the question is for the DXDP. We are coming down for our honeymoon in may and want to do the deluxe dining plan. Now that is a ton of food. Im trying to plan signature dining everynight to get rid of 2 credits at one time. With the one remaining is it a waste to use it as a QS Lunch or a breakfast. I cant eat three meals a day, so the plan is early lunch late signature dinner or early breakfast early signature dinner. Any help or opinons from those who have used the DXDP would be appreciated.

This is what I found when I ran the numbers for our family:

I have planned a table service every night with only 3 of 10 being 2TS credits. Additionally, for most days, I have a breakfast planned. For the remaining one meal most days, I have a couple of other TS restaurants planned and several QS restaurants. If we order off the menu the way it's set up (1 appetizer, 1 entree, 1 dessert, 1 drink), we save about $200/person for the 10 days. And that's having a couple of unused meals left over.

What I'm trying to say is that I think you'd be fine if you threw in a couple of QS restaurants.

The typical "break even" point on DxDDP is at 2/3 credits spent at Signatures or other 2 credit locations. So yes, doing 2 TS dinners and 1 CS breakfast/lunch will still net you some value. It'll be cutting it a bit close, but you should still save money on the plan. Tossing in a couple TS breakfasts (to keep the meals spread out) would really push further into the value side so that there's a bit of a buffer (and you don't need all TS breakfasts, just one to three depending on your length of stay will suffice, although if you want more, then by all means :))

My experience and spreadsheet turns up exactly what Cafeen said - the breakeven point is around 2/3 of credits used for table service. We don't do much quick service at all, mainly because the whole experience is a headache with 3 kids in tow, but we don't do 3 meal days either. Most of our DxDDP days are either a character breakfast or early TS lunch followed by a signature dinner, and that works out well without being too much food or time spent eating. And since we're only eating 2 meals/day we have a little room to use some of those snack credits on the must-have Disney goodies, though we do still end up bringing some treats home to share with friends & family.
