looking for information for Universal in CA

We are thinking about going to CA next year and wanted to include Universal. Do they have their own hotels like the one in FL?

Not really, but there is a Sheraton and a Hilton (I think it's a Hilton), within walking distance. I don't think they're considered "onsite" hotels like the Orlando ones though, they're just convenient to the park.

I can try to answer some questions for you since I visit the Universal in Hollywood every few years (I was most recently there a little over a year ago), but you might also want to try posting questions on the Disneyland Board. There are a lot of local Californians that post there and might be able to help you with more of the California-specific things.

You can drive to Universal from Disneyland in about 45-60 minutes, depending on traffice. We usually just drive rather than move hotels, esp. since they don't have really anything unique to offer like Orlando.

Thanks for the reply. We are still in the planning stages so I really do not have many questions yet. We want to do alot when we are there but I'm not sure what we will get to. We also want to go over to see the grand canyon.

Do you have an idea how many days you will be spending on the west coast?

BF and I go to Vegas every year to visit his dad, and we often combine it with various things in California. There are so many things to do there, I can understand how difficult it is to have to pare down what you really want to do!
