Hi guy's!My family and I are leaving for Disney on the 29th (YAY) My question is this..... On the way home we are going to take our time and we would like to stay some where's near South of the border. Does anyone have any Idea's at where to stay? Thanks for any Info.!

Wow No one know's of any hotel's in South Carolina near south of the border? I know there is one at south of the border but I have never been there, and I dont know if it is a nice place or not? have a great day!:moped:

I've stayed at the motel at South of The Border, it's OK...you can probably find a place to stay at any of the exits before or after South of The Border..

Thanks for the info MICKEY88! My concern was that the place at south of the border was dirty! I love south of the border it is sooo cheesy! But I can alway's find something dumb to buy there!:rotfl:

I don't remember having any complaints about it...and I'm more of a clean freak than anyone in my family...

Hi Banshee. I have no answers not info, but just a thought. If you edit your thread title to say what kind of info you are looking for, in a few words, you might catch some more eyes who might skim over this. Just a thought. Good luck. And enjoy the trip!!!!::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Banshee ~ Hiya!!!! Ok, the closest "BIG" city (and it is certainly NOT a BIG city  ) is Florence, SC. You may want to try to stay in Florence if you arrive that evening and then travel the 30 miles to Dillion. (SoB is located near Dillion, SC) Florence has several normal hotels in the area near where I-20 and I-95 converge. I can't think of the name of that area to save my life, but I know there are several hotels on the exit where the Magnolia Mall is (I-20 and I -95) and also at the next exit up (HWY 52 and I-95).

If you are arriving mid day and don't want to spend time in Florence, I am think there are hotels in nearby exits of SoB. Like soemone else said, I haven't heard any bad comments about the hotel located at SoB.

Please forgive me if any of this info is wrong. I haven't been to Florence since I graduated college in 1994. I am just going from memory ... which may have been under influences back then! ;)

Have great trip to both places!

p.s. Are you sure you don't want to visit SoB on the way down to WDW ... LOL! No offense, just meaning they are not comparable ... but you are correct ... always neat little trinkets you can't find anywhere else! :teeth:

Florence is nice I stayed there on my way to WDW January of 2002..got caught in a major snow/ice storm..over 100 accidents reported on I95..stopped briefly at South of The Border, then proceeded to Florence in search of a room..SOB was booked full do to the storm...most places in Florence were as well, but one of the desk clerks was nice enough to call a place across town to see if they had any rooms, then gave me directions.., would stay there again also...

Just wanted to add that many people may not understand the original question. I had no idea how you were going to stay "south of the border" (in MEXICO?) on the way from WDW to New Jersey. Just made no sense. I assume from some of the responses that this is actually a town? A place? A hotel?

LOL Dodie~ South of the Border is a small amusement type place right on the SC/NC border of 1-95. It has some amusement type rides and shopping. It has a mexican theme ... kinda cheesy but always something interesting here! Also, they have a hotel "onsite".

It was in a movie that Sandra Bullock was in ... can't think of the name of it!
