I just found out that we are going to Disney World in March. In the past I have always booked a 2 bedroom condo through Skyauction but when I went there this time the picking are much slimmer. There were no options at all in Orlando through one of the Ready, Set, Go auctions and the other auctions only had WestGate and it was bid per night. We are on a limited budget and need at least 2 bedrooms. I want either a condo at a resort or a private home. I have no clue where to start searching. In the past we paid $250.00 for a week. I can't go much above $300 and we really only need lodging for Monday night thru Saturday morning but it may make more sense to rent for an entire week. Can anyone direct me to any web sites that might have deals such as Skyauction used to? Or is there a way to rent a home for a reasonable cost or to get a time share some other way?

Thanks in advance for any help. I love this site!!

If anyone thinks this should be in a different forum please bump it for me because I don't know how...thanks. :earsboy:

At the height of spring break you are going to be hard pressed to find anything for that rate. That is a rate of $60 per night w/ taxes and cleaning fee's during peak season.

You can give it a try with these sites. They are rent direct sites which usually have the best deals to begin with. However, you don't usually see much under the $60/nt range.

I’m with kilee on this one. SkyAuction is great – but you can’t expect those prices all the time. At best, $250 for a week at a resort is a rarity that you will normally only find when park attendance is at its lowest levels. And since March is a pretty busy time, I highly doubt you will find any suites in this price range.

For $50 a night I think you need to be thinking about finding a nice standard hotel room - that means no suite. If you absolutely require a 2 bedroom place, you had better expect to pay something a lot closer to $100 a night – maybe even a little more. And to get that price you will need to look carefully through some of the links you see on this forum.

I suggest you go through the pages of this forum and open any posts that reference condos for rent and cheap accommodation. Take note of any links and start scouring.

Good luck.

www.tug2.net

They have a "Last Minute Timeshare Rental" forum...but owners can only post their last minute availability 4 weeks out (I think)

Maximum rental fees are capped for that forum:) Again, IIRC, (the memory is foggy!) it may be $500 for the week...it might be more now, though.

So book something that you can live with, and then keep checking:) You never know - something great might pop up!

HTH!

I'm sending you a link to a pool home advertised for $350 a week before taxes in March. It's a little further away, about 30 minutes from Disney. Check your PM's.

Also, if you're talking about going THIS March, I think you might be able to find some "last minute deals" for your price range. I would check on www.vrbo.com for anything that looks like it would appeal to your family and see if they have availability. Lots of owners on VBRO have "last minute" rates that are much cheaper than regular rates.

Thanks for the help. The exact dates are March 13th - 18th so I would not think that would be anyones Spring Break since Easter is not until April but maybe I am wrong. I might be able to change the trip to the last week of February but that will be tough.

A two room is absolutely necessary because I am meeting my ex there with the kids and we are taking them to DW together and so we want seperate sleeping quarters. A little unorthodox but we both get to enjoy the kids at Disney with the benefit of extra hands and sharing the cost.

I will start looking. Thanks again for all the info.
