Looking for info about Saratoga Springs

We are planning a trip for early 2008 and plan on staying at Saratoga Springs. Can anybody give me any tips? Is there a certain area I should try to stay in? Also, what do you like/not like about SSR?

Hi and Welcome to the DIS! Have you made your reservations yet? Early 2008 is not far away and you should try to book asap if not. Many times may be sold out especially during some holiday weeks.

We have stayed a few times in Congress Park and love the area. This is where you will have a DTD view. There is a nice pool there and it has a bus stop as well.

It really depends on what you want from your visit. If you like to go to DTD, I would suggest Congress Park because it is within easy walking distance. If you want to be as close to the main pool as possible, the Springs area is a good one. The Grandstand is the newest area and from everything I have read, the pool area is very nice there and it has a nice play area around the pool for children. The Paddocks area is probably what some would consider the farthest from the main pool and Artist's Pallette. However, you can always hop on a bus (any bus) and ride it around to the Springs bus stop and get off if you don't want to walk over to the main pool. There are four pools at SSR. Main Pool (slide), Congress Park, Grandstand, and Paddocks. Each area has their own laundry if you are staying in a studio. I don't feel it is too far from anything, but some people will argue that point if they don't like walking. We love SSR and always have enjoyed every location we have stayed in.

Thanks. We usually like to be close to the main pool and restaurants, so it looks like we should be looking at the Springs. My parents just bought into the DVC, so they are actually the ones planning the trip, I am just doing a little research to help. We've stayed at several other resorts at Disney, but this will be our first time at SSR. Are there 3BR villas in the Springs?

I think there are Grand Villas in all areas of SSR. WebMaster Doc would be the best source of that information. He usually know exactly where all the GV are located.
