Hi -
We are going to DL in mid Nov with an elderly friend who has not been to DL in years and would love to be a part of the 50th celebration. She has had back surgery, has diminished lung capacity due to previous bouts of pneumonia, and basically has a hard time getting around. She has handicap plates for her car and can get a note from her doctor that will show she needs special assistance. What can we do about helping her to get around inside the parks? She uses scooters or walkers in the stores she shops in, but does not own her own scooter.
I know they have wheelchairs and ECV that can be rented, but they are first come first serve. What happens when we go from one park to another and the second one does not have anything available? I understand that Disney does not allow them to go from one park to another as well as not allowing them into Downtown Disney. Strange that they allow their strollers to go from one park into another though.
Suggestions?
