I booked the free dining promo at Pop Century for myself, DD13, my adult DD and her BF. I plan on booking a second room for DD and her BF just to sleep in.

We are driving to Fla so we will have a car and they will meet us at PC each morning, park there and join us for the day then back to the other hotel to sleep.

I may end up just booking a second room at Pop(Is that even allowed?)but I'm hoping there may be a less inexpensive place nearby.

The hotel doesnt need to be fancy,,,,just clean and safe!

AoA is close by but I think it is more expensive than PoP check it out. Lovely resort. I don't see why you can't have a second room at PoP you just give a different lead name. The All Stars is the cheapest nice resort but it is a little further away from PoP then AoA.

If your family is planning Extra Magic Hours time in the park, keep in mind if they are offsite, they can't do anything with you. If I Recall Correctly for the morning EMH they can't even get into the park until it's normal park hours. At night they do scan magicbands/cards to see if you have EMH to get into any attractions except public area shows and parades.

I've also found that once you add in resort fees and sometimes parking fees for nearby off site hotels it doesn't make it a huge savings if there is any savings at all. Generally offsite really shines when you want a larger room, suite or vacation rental and the whole family is staying there.

I don't have a specific recommendation as I've generally used All Stars or Pop for a room for similar situation. Do they like camping? Ft wilderness has lower cost camp sites, buy a cheap tent :)

I did think of camping but we are going in August so I'm not so sure it would be very comfortable!
They are on my reservation at POP so they can still do EMHs. I'm just starting to think the room will be too small for the four of us.

I'm thinking they will not care since I'll be spending more money!

If their names are on the room at PC wouldn't they get Extra Magic Hours even if they don't sleep there?

You said your daughter is an adult. Why can't you just have her book her own room and free dining at Pop? You could still pay for it, if that's a concern, but I think Pop's prices will be hard to beat off site.

That's a good question, I guess if they are listed for the room then yes you would get them. However there is extra cost for 3 adults in the room (the third adult there is a fee).

Sorry I am confused what is PC?

I think they are saying pop century.

I had no idea that there is a 3 adult fee! I just assumed 4 was ok since it says "Sleeps up to 4 adults".

Rates at non-Disney hotels are generally much more variable. If you are still considering off-site options, the best way to get some help would be to provide the dates of your stay. Lots of folks that visit this forum are quite familiar with hotels/motels near WDW. We may be able to provide suggestions.

Yes they will since she said she was booking them in the room. They will have all perks.

Yes, $10 per person per night over 2 adults. We do it all the time during Free Dining and it's actually Free Dining when it is a HUGE perk. $10 for an adult DDP each day, good deal!

Because having them in one room is cheaper than two rooms Free Dining because you have to pay full price for the room.

OP look at:

- Your Dates could have huge impact on final best choice

- Check Room Only Discounts for POP and AllStars.
- Calculate one room FD and one room RO Discount vs two rooms FD.
- Find out what your savings point is if they move offsite vs onsite.
- Check Orbitz
- Check Buena Vista Palace in Disney Springs, no fees and running deals since under renovation.
- Check Buena Vista Suites (especially via Mousesavers)
- Check Hampton Inn Lake Buena Vista and Hampton Inn Lake Buena Vista South
- Check Marriott Village Lake Buena Vista Resorts (3)
- Check Hilton Garden Inn Lake Buena Vista
- Check Clarion Inn Lake Buena Vista
- Check Baymont Inn at CELEBRATION
- Check Red Lion Maingate

Rent a camper in Orlando and stay at Ft Wilderness. Camper is about sixty a day and camp ground rates are 70 to 90 a day depending on when you stay. Another thing just something that may help or not First responders and military can get deals on rooms at WDW and it's not Shades of Green

We are currently booked for 8/14-8/23. I'm debating changing it to 8/18-8/26 (if that is even possible) because I saw that the projected crowd levels and resort price drop for that time frame.

This is very helpful, thank you very much!
Have you stayed at these hotels? Are they safe and clean?
Is it easy to travel to Pop from them? Thats a big concern since the roadways are not so direct around Disney!

We did a quick trip in February for a long weekend and stayed at the Buena Vista Palace. Used to stay there as kids before all the other Disney moderates opened so we figured it would be a nice place to go for nostalgia sake. Anyway...it was clean, it was safe, the rates were GREAT for our weekend (sometimes they aren't so great) but it worked out nicely. It's within walking distance to Disney Springs (directly across the street) so I believe that getting to and from Pop would be easy enough. We also use the Waze app on our phone to get around (especially with traffic and road construction lately). I'd check the DS hotels as suggested above. They are super close, and really affordable.

- Check Buena Vista Palace in Disney Springs, no fees and running deals since under renovation. (Yes and stayed there about a month ago. As I said under renovation so right now no pools and many things are closed off but rooms done and were very nice.)

- Check Buena Vista Suites (especially via Mousesavers) (Yes, a few times. They are suites so that is nice if you need it. Breakfast is average. It is a very easy and straight shot into property and getting to POP is super easy.)

- Check Hampton Inn Lake Buena Vista and Hampton Inn Lake Buena Vista South (Yes, stayed at both. I like South since away from the congestion and super easy to get on property and to POP, has breakfast)

- Check Marriott Village Lake Buena Vista Resorts (3) (I haven't, DS has. They have renovated them. Traffic is heavier around here but not un-doable. Prices usually good. Some of breakfast, not sure all.)

- Check Hilton Garden Inn Lake Buena Vista (Yes, I have. Very nice hotel with pretty pool area. No breakfast. We just keep food in room. )

- Check Clarion Inn Lake Buena Vista (We have not, stayed all around it. I believe Rosen took it over as they have many hotels and they run a good operation. Often has great rates. Other side of Disney Springs.)

- Check Baymont Inn at CELEBRATION (Yes, DS stayed many times with teams. Basic but clean, tasteful, breakfast. Enter through back of property at Animal Kingdom. Not right by POP but not hard to get to.)

- Check Red Lion Maingate (Yes, DD stayed. Renovated a few years ago. Enter through back of property at Animal Kingdom. Not right by POP but not hard to get to.)

I highly suggest either Marriott's Towne Place Suites or Spring Hill Suites at Flamingo Crossings. Great price! I paid $78 a night last Fri-Sun 6/10 - 6/12. I booked about a month in advance from hotel web site. August dates flex from $79 -$100 depending what type of room booked. (We're booked here again the first week of August.) From Pop Century going the back roads it's about a 10 minute drive. Turn right out of Pop Century onto Victory. Make a left onto Lake Buena Vista. Just past Disney's Coronado Springs turn right onto Western Way. Follow this out the back Disney Arch, go under toll road 429. Make a right from Western Way onto Flamingo Crossings hotels sit on the right.

Our stay last weekend was with with my daughter's softball team as they were in a showcase at Wide World of Sports. Wide World of Sports is around the corner from Pop. We had team members staying at both properties, which are connected by a shared huge beautiful pool area. I was able to take a look at several rooms and all were very nice. It's brand new about 5 months old, super clean, great staff, pool, spa, nice exercise room, and includes daily breakfast. Spring Hill suites had a mini fridge, small microwave and coffee maker. I stayed in Towne Place Suite our room had two very comfortable queen beds, a pull out sofa bed, and a small but complete kitchen with a full size fridge, two burner stove top, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, and pots, pans dishes ect.

One word of advice avoid the directions GPS and map quest give to this property. They take you on a route along 192, which take about 25 minutes to get to this property from Disney. Much faster to take Western Way to and from Disney Property.
