We are beginning to plan our trip for June 2013 and the 4 grandkids all want to do pin trading ages 8 -16. I of course will be ordering pins from ebay to get them started but I am looking for ideas for pin trading bags ect that will make trading more fun. Possibly something I can make for each of them. I looked on Ebay and the comercial bags didn't really appeal to me.

My kids, especially my DS, love to pin trade. I think my DS just likes to talk to strangers, so we've done pin trading on many trips. One trip, my son was determined to collect all the bowling pins, which he did, so when we returned home, I bought him a shadow box-type frame to display them in. I also pick one pin from each trip and put in a shadow box to commemorate each trip. With that same idea, you could ask each grandchild to pick a pin for you to display when you get home.

My kids don't always want to wear the lanyards, so sometimes they put their pins on hats, jackets, backpack straps, etc. Maybe you could make something different that they could wear them around on.

We love to pin trade. 5 children and wife have lanyards. I use my "vacation hat" for mine. Would be cheaper to buy lanyard before you left home. They are fairly easy to find. Keep your eyes out for cast members with pins on backwards on their lanyard. These are special pins to trade. You don't get to peek, but if you're that unhappy, they will nix trade.
