Looking for Galveston Cruise Reports!

Hello everyone! I am new to the forum but excited to be here! My family and I are going on a 7 night cruise out of Galveston, TX next Friday. I am looking for reports from anyone who has sailed on the first trip out of Galveston, anyone who is local in Galveston who can give us some pointers (we are driving to the port from Minnesota), or anyone else who has insight for us. We are very excited so give us something to chew on until next Friday!! Thank you!!

Wow that's quite a drive! We've driven from Houston to Canada and loved it. My DH and I have cruised from Galveston many times but we don't sail on the Magic for a few weeks. I read about the 9-22 on the regular forums so check there. Galveston has its charms and a lot of tourist attractions. You'll find plenty to do if your arriving early. The cruise terminal is nothing like P.C. but it does the job. I found in the past that its easier for everyone and luggage to get dropped off and then DH parks across the street at garage. Although some hotels have free parking with a few nights stay. Although we sometimes have family drop us off it just seems easier to have our own car. Like the time our cruise was extended three days because of bad weather but that's a whole other story.
