Just looking for everyone's best tips for when traveling the world. Thanks for all and any input!

I think your best bet is to start looking through all the posts on this forum. Just read the titles and that should give you a hint. Besides for many tips you will have someone else recommend the opposite.

Yes, def start with this advice! There are too any to even begin. The forum is strategically designed to answer your exact question.

I think the blanket statement I give to anyone who 1st approaches me and says.... I hear your the person to talk to, I'm looking to book a trip to WDW is....

plan, plan, and plan some more. Read threads on here. I love Allears website too and I look around and read what the official WDW website has too for specific things.

Alot of your strategies will depend on what time of year you are going - offseason = less busy, less strategic planning. Peak season = more exact precise planning, and timing involved but longer park hours to fit those things in.

We pick a park, make an ADR for a sit down meal in the park we are planning on being in for the day. Other than that we tend to wing alot based on lines at the time as we go off season and have been fortunate enough to have low/no crowds, most of the rides were walk on. I ask the kids what "must" you do and make sure we fit it in somewhere along the way but we have skipped over and come back to it if the wait was longer than we wanted.

So after all your planning and planning and planning, you arrive in WDW. RELAX! You are on vacation, you will not do everything (best reason to plan a return trip! :thumbsup2), and most of the time the only person stressing out over missing the red telephone booth in England @ Epcot is you, the person doing the planning.

When you read posts and suggestions from others - take a step back and ask yourself: "will this apply to my family?"

What can be a great a tip for a family X may not apply to yours. it dosent mean its not a great tip - just we are all different and have different needs. Dinning recommendations or hotel recommendations are perfect example.

We decided to do H&V for lunch even though food quality or atmosphere is less than ideal --- I have two little kids and they loved Disney Junior M&G during the lunch. I have picture of the trip when my son has a smile from ear to ear while standing next to Sofia.pixiedust:

-Plan ahead and make your plans detailed
-Make sure to take advantage of Fastpasses
-Research rides, shows, restaurants, resorts, etc.
-Get to the park as soon as it opens! This allows you to beat the crowds and do some bigger things without the long lines.
-Eating lunch/dinner early helps. While everyone begins to eat at about 12:00, you can avoid the crowds for a little while.
-Take snacks into the park! This is a good money saving tip. Of course, you have to enjoy a Mickey Ice Cream Bar every once in a while!
-Think of some games to play while waiting in line but most Disney attractions have awesome interactive queues!
-Have fun!

I'll bite.

get to a park 30 minutes before rope drop

stay hydrated

fastpass plus can be your friend

have a plan but be very flexible

remember that your first trip is your first of many trips so don't try to do it all

no matter how hard you try, if you bring Mardi Gras beads none of the princesses will earn them the New Awlins way.

sunscreen is your friend

RELAX and have fun

use a fast pass for a Be Our Guest lunch and Anna & Elsa greet and meet

if you bribe one of the CMs at Spaceship Earth you can see Walt's frozen head.

Have a plan.

Use this Forum to find out information on where to stay, where to eat and what to do. There are a LOT of subforums specific to the various decisions you will need to make your plans. Use other resources such as EasyWDW for ideas and valuable information for planning.

Everyone has a different way of planning and the level they choose to do it. I have very detailed plans myself but if you go at slower time and eat at Quick Service restaurants primarily, a less detailed plan will do.

Tips:

Arrive at the parks at least 30 minutes before opening.
If you are going during a hot time of year, midday breaks could be your best friend.
Use Fast Pass +.
If you are staying onsite, use EMH until the park gets busy then hop to a less crowded park (if you choose to buy hoppers)
