I Am Not Much Of A Cook But Love Thise Chriatmas Treats And Need Some Easy Recipes And Maybe Some Christmas Craft Ideas Too

I use mini muffin pans and put a round ball of ready made peanut butter dough in there and then when they are almost done squeeze down a reese's peanut butter cup in them. Really yummy.

last year I did rolo's and everyone loved them they went the fastest of all the 15 different kinds of goodies I made.

I discovered this recipe last year. It was really easy and a big hit.

Rollo candy or Hershey kisses
mini-pretzel twists
whole pecans

Place parchment paper or aluminum foil on baking pan.

Place 30 pretzels on the paper or foil.

Preheat oven to only 250 degrees. Top pretzel with a Rollo or Kiss. Bake 4 minutes. Immediately, press 1 whole pecan onto each melted chocolate piece. Kisses will look the same, just push down with the pecan.

Place in refrigerator to cool quickly.

Only bake 1 pan at a time, unless someone is helping put the pecans on quickly.

Store in air tight container.

I made rice krispy treats with a little bit of broken red and green cheerios (those fruity O's) or another colorful cereal sprinkled in. Then I cut them with Christmas tree cookie cutters.

Peppermint bark is easy and SO yummy!

Melt chocolate chips, pour out onto wax paper and let harden.
Melt white chocolate chips, add a few drops of peppermint extract. Pour over the hardened chocolate.
Crush candy canes or peppermint candies, sprinkle over the white chocolate and press the pieces into the white chocolate before it hardens. Let the whole thing harden than break into bite-sized pieces. :cloud9:

Anyone have a picture of this? I am curious to know what it would look like in the end....thanks

We made peppermint stirrers last year, and they were a hit!!

Take the straight end of a candy cane and dip it in melted chocolate. I broke the hook end off so I could wrap them, but you could leave them. I put about half a dozen in each package. The package was wax paper twisted at each end (like old style candy) and a ribbon. You can use them for coffee or with warm milk for peppermint hot chocolate. Yum!

These are so simple-and always a huge hit! :upsidedow

Toffee Bars

1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 packed cup brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
pinch of salt
1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
½ cup chopped pecans
4 Hershey milk chocolate bars

Preheat oven to 350º Lightly grease a 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Thoroughly combine butter, brown sugar and egg yolk. Blend in vanilla extract and salt. Smooth batter evenly into prepared pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Remove from oven and immediately place chocolate bars on top of warm “cookie.” Loosely cover with foil. When chocolate is melted, spread evenly over “cookie,” leaving a ¼ inch edge. Sprinkle with nuts. Chill for 15 minutes or until chocolate is set. Cut into small bars.

I do this one with a little variation. No paper or foil is needed.
Put the small pretzels down on a sheet. I put as many as will fit.
Put a small chocolate disk on top and put in the oven on 250/275. You can get these little guys at Michael's in holiday colors. Remove after 4 minutes or when the chocolate gets shiny.

Immediately press m&m on each one. Place in the fridge to set. Done !

I usually have the kids help and put some in holiday mugs for thier teachers.

This is a great thread. I have some recipes in my file I can share. I have hot chocolate and coffee mixes that people have really enjoyed. I have given them to the employees at my children's school and they loved them.

I had several times a wonderful treat that consisted of saltines covered in sugar and chocolate. It tasted almost like a Heath Bar. I saw the recipe in a Kraft mag that I get in the mail, but I can't find it. If anyone knows it, I would love to make it.
