I appreciate the thought buddy. I was hoping for an outpouring of support from my post as I love that kind of junk as much as the next guy, but I saw Mal, and that helped bring on the feeling of vindication!

I know right? I can live with being copied, it doesn't happen often, but hey, I got mine.. woo woo? But the really low part of all this, is that the copier is telling people that I stole the idea! I made the game's "opening" thread here at DIS last June.. days after the musical room was released.

Thanks again to those who looked out and helped make the "shut out" a success, and though he'll probably win an award knowing my luck in VMK as of late, I really gotta thank the copier! My room had a 5 person wait within minutes while I was posting a reach out to you peeps.. and you just can't buy that kind of publicity!

I wasn't on VMK at all Thursday, or I would have helped. As a game room
winner, I would not be happy if someone blatantly copied the exact room
and told everyone I copied them, either!

Someone was trying to tell me I copied his game when I came out with my
Throw That Pumpkin game. Since I rarely go into player games (unless it's a
friend or I've read about it here), I was incredulous that he thought I didn't
come up with the idea on my own.

With only a limited amount of furniture and ideas, it's possible that many
people think of the same game. Both Jellyrolls and I had noticed that
there were host games that were not exact copies, but each had similar
elements to the object of our games.

I hope the person who copied your game doesn't get any reward from VMK
for it.

Doesn't VMK have a system for that? So that people who copy can't win anything. VMK keeps records so I hope so for Ranch.

With only a limited amount of furniture and ideas, it's possible that many people think of the same game.

I think we should give others the benefit of the doubt, unless of course every last stick of furniture and placement is exactly the same(which would only happen if someone copied someone else).

Ranch, correct me if I am wrong, was one of the first people with the HSM Rooms. He built this room and had that game open almost immediately. So I know his game is the original. It was also at the top of the list for several nights and the only one.

Well, I know for a fact that I had an HSM room the day they came out, so, again, how can WE (not you) really be sure that his is the original? We cant, we just have to "take your word for it" - but then again, the other party is not here to defend themselves, so....

again, I dont see it that way. If he had said "Hey come over to my room" that would be one thing and I never would have even responded in this thread, but thats not what he said, and then others started chiming in on "ban the copiers" and such.

I wish that were the case, but unfortunately, Friend and I met this person in line at the ToT while hey eyeball'd my VMK pin. I didn't like him and paid him no mind. These are the results.

You're right.
I was on workmans comp at that time, so I was able to pounce on the HSM quest the day it came out. I think it took a day or two to finally put the design together.

I wont lead you there (I believe in people doing things for themselves), but the copier started a thread elsewhere promoting the design to where the following page consisted of nothing but, "That's Ranch's game" posts. The site owners were kind enough to give me last say on the thread before shutting down the plagiarist. Good times!

He did not name names as per the DIS board guidelines he has done nothing wrong.
