Looking for decent 6 piece patio set

Preferably with cushioned chairs. Anyone seen a great deal?

Bought our 5pc. set at Kmart a few summers ago. I think it was a Jacklyn Smith set. It's a square glass top table with 4 cushioned chairs. Added a matching umbrella w/stand. I think the whole thing was less than $400. It's a nice blue/green pattern, and has held up well. Serves the purpose.

Our Walmart has all of their patio sets half price right now. Some of them looked pretty nice.

We were just at Sears. They had a gorgeous table and chair set (not padded though) "rockers" with a 6-sided table with leave etched into the bottom of the table. It came with six chairs. It was $350. It was absolutely gorgeous and looked really well made!

I just passed our local K-Mart yesterday and they had good sets for as low a $150 (4 padded chairs)

Be sure you get aluminum - not steel! Aluminum won't rust!

I worked at Sears in college and got a really nice set for $69.00 at season end - they had to sell it to get the Fall stuff on the floor- that was about 8 years ago, and the set it still going strong. A few dents/dings from storms over the years, and a few cracks in the finish- but since it's aluminum, it won't rust!

It still looks great!

Now is definitely the time to buy!

It's a great time of year to buy a new patio set to save $$. Unfortunately, most places seem to be pretty picked over. We actually just got rid of our cushioned chairs this year because they faded so terribly. Plus it would stay wet for so long after a rainfall. It just wasn't worth it anymore. We got a great set at Shopko with swivel chairs that are super comfy.

I'd suggest going online to Lowes, Walmart, Home Dept, etc. and seeing what they have left.

We were at Kmart and saw a really nice set marked down. We just bought one last year so we don't need one but it was a great deal!

I found mine at Lowes...but I had to go to 2-3 different stores to get all the pieces that I needed. Definitely worth it as I paid less than 25% of what it would have been prior to the markdowns.

This is what we did too. I found what I wanted and then have been watching the prices and checking the stock levels each Sunday morning (we have three Lowe's close by).

Can you define "decent"? What are you willing to spend?

Are you looking for cast aluminum?

The reason I ask, is because to me "decent" means not cheap, but not high end, but very sturdy. I found myself buying a set every 5 years, chipping, chairs giving out. So I wanted a decent set, but I didn't want to pay $3,000 for one.

I found one on sale last month at Macys, $1,500, cast aluminum, six chairs, umbrella, umbrella stand, cushions and got a 7 year warranty on all. Yep! even the cushions. My husband opened up a Macys credit card to get 10% off (I already had one) ;-)

I just purchased the Rolston set from Target.com. I was looking for gazebo furniture - comfy chairs with cushions and end tables, not a dining set. All the Rolston pieces got very good reviews and I am very happy with the strength, appearance and comfort of my pieces. The set I got was aluminum frame under two-tone brown all-season (aka plastic) wicker.
