Just got rid of my flip phone and got a new iPhone for Christmas. I'm still learning all the ins & out of using this phone so I'm still in the learning process of "apps". :rotfl:

I'm wondering if there are any apps out there for either coupons or maybe one for groceries?

Not sure how to look for particular apps, any advice?

Go into the app store on your phone. There should be a search option- usually mine opens with "suggested apps" but you can search by free- most popular- new- or even by topic. (at least you can on my IPAD which I assume is the same app store on the phone) Make sure you are getting apps that are for the phone!

TheCoupons App is a good one and so is Retailmenot for shopping

The Target app allows you to have "coupons" scanned at the checkout lane. It also shows up in your passbook (not quite sure how to set up the other apps in passbook). When you go into the app it will list ecoupons. It does not have a list you can choose from it gives you them. If you have a Kroger then you can download the kroger app and then "load coupons" to you kroger card. BEWARE though.. they scan your kroger card first so you can not use a ecoupon and a manufacture coupon for the same item. If you get emails from Kohls they can scanned the "coupon" from your email at the register. I normally do a screen shot and then use that. That way I am not going back into my email and use more data. I am sure there are more out there:)

If you have a wireless printer download the coupon.com ap you can print coupons right from your phone

I use Grocery Gadget. So far I've used it mostly for inventory purposes. I wanted to be able to have a list of everything in the pantry and freezers with me when I get to the store. I like to stock up when something is at its lowest price. If I see an unadvertised special, by using this app I'll know whether I have any at all or how many I have at home. I don't have everything inventoried yet, but I'm getting there. The app allows me to input all the information I could possibly want to input. I can scan UPCs and have the item pop into my list, and I can categorize items.

I like Grocery Gadget because there is both a smartphone app and a web-based application that I can access on my computer. Also, I had a long list of items on my Palm, and I was able to import that list into this app. The same list will sync with other family members' smartphones.

Other people have entered items into the Grocery Gadget database. Occasionally when I scan a food item, I will find that someone else entered the wrong name for that UPC, or the way they entered the food name is not the way I would prefer. It takes a little work to get everything just right, but when I'm done I'll feel much more in control of my shopping and my stockpiles.

I have grocery iq. I can use the website when I'm at my computer to add items to the list and the phone app when I'm out or at the store. You can also share the app with others so if DH was stopping at the store on his way home he could see what was on the list.

Try Ibotta, you upload your receipt & bar codes. You can deposit the funds into your paypal acount. I always forget to use coupons, I find this easier.

OP here. I have just installed the Grocery Gadget app.
So what you're saying is that I can put all the grocery items in my fridge/freezer/cupboards into this app? That way I will know exactly how many of a specific item I have??? That would be awesome. Do you then make your grocery list on there and can mark it off when done?

Maslex, it's supposed to have that capability. I've been concentrating on entering what I already have on hand, which is a lot, so I haven't gotten to the point of making a list of just what I need.

I also use the store apps for the places I shop most open. I can look at the store specials and make a list of what I want to buy from those in the store apps.
