Looking For Control Freaks & Worry Warts too........ Part 2

I'm back and forth tonite. Amanda is in bed; Lauren and I are watching the end of season 3 of Lost. Charlie dies -- and she's crying! I'm pretty mad he's dead too!

Jillian - thanx for the info on Yachtsman - can't believe the CM would be that rude about ballcaps? Jeff is pretty good about taking his off (at least for table service in Disney) and never wears one locally if we go out to eat. But I see so many men who keep theirs on all the time in Disney.

I think we're gonna go with Rose and Crown. I remember you saying you didn't like Biergarten so we may wait and try it someday with Ally, but not this time. Yachtsman is out since we're using the DDP and not wanting to pay any out of pocket this trip. Trying to save a little bit at least - figured that Flying Fish would probably have set us back $150 so no out of pocket dining this trip. I thought about moving to CSR instead of Yacht Club and Jeff said, "but it's our anniversary trip." He's so funny about Disney. I can pretty much spend what I want or plan what I want there and he's cool with it. But Ally is definitely staying home that trip.

I hear ya! I'm still tweaking plans for my June trip. I'm cancelling my ADRs at Artist Point. I just can't justify eating there; we already have some pricey meals planned at Chefs, LeCellier, and Yachtsman. Artist Point sounds really nice, but don't think Lauren would appreciate the experience that much. Besides, I would want to use the DDE card - but I'd have to purchase it first at MK guest services. That means I'd have to check in at WL; go into MK to buy the DDE; then turn around and go back to WL for dinner; then go BACK to MK for late EMH. Now I know, once Lauren and I get to MK - we're NOT going to want to go back to WL for dinner. So I've made ADRs for Tony's Town Square. I've seen good and bad reviews, but we've never eaten there so I thought we'd give it a try. It's italien, Lady & the Tramp theme - how bad could it be?

Oh - and FYI - I read that the Yachtsman has a pretty strict dress code; not as proper as Victoria & Albert's obviously, but not as laid back as other restaurants. I was worried about flip-flops, but some posters on the dining board said they have relaxed a little about those - as long as they are neat looking.

Here for a quick minute then off to be it has been a VERY busy day and I have had enough. The big party is tomorrow. Nothing is done for it and I didn't even have a chance to do the shopping OH WELL That's what the AM is for.

I was PG and couldn't fit into anything except flip flops. I wore black nice ones that were clean and a nice outfit. Mike wore shorts Dockers and a collared shirt and a nice pair of sandals.

Kara- I felt YC was a little stuffy and liked the feel of CBR and CSR a little bit better. I agree it is your anniversery so enjoy it.

Good luck tomorrow! Have a GREAT party!! Duh.... I just realized why you are cleaning so much!

Cammie - OK, so Rose and Crown it is this time! Funny you are cancelling Artist Point - that is one of Jeff and I's favorites also! We ate there on our honeymoon before the DDP, but we just have a problem using two table service credits for any restaurant there. See, when we use DDP Jeff wants to get the most "bang" for his buck so he doesn't even want to try Tony's or the Plaza, cause they are cheaper. But paying out of pocket, I'd like to try Tony's - like you said, it's Italian and it's Lady and the Tramp, I'm sure it will be fine! AND you don't have to leave MK for a TS restaurant!

Jillian - have a WONDERFUL Badookie party!!!!!!!

OK, off to edit (at least the pics) out of my TR. My luck somebody will read it who knows my SIL. So I'll just vent here instead.

Back later!

Quite honestly, with the little I read on one of the sites in question, I have to agree with the webmasters. Very mean-spirited. I say good riddance.
I spent a lot of time following threads and being nosy last night and it really is starting to just seem childish. You should see all the threads they hijack and then the threads get "poofed" because of the content. It is insane. And I am so bad I just want to jump in and say ...
I am sure a lot of you are nice people...I'm sure a lot of you did get screwed...but let it go and just move on. They are coming up with new screen names and just jumping in and causing trouble at this point. I do believe some of them got the raw end of the stick but if the DIS has 175,000 members I just don't know why they think 200 are really that big of a deal to them.....When they say "the DIS isn't the same anymore" I want to laugh at them and say "do you realize there are about !74,500 members who don't even know who you are?????"
Sorry for the rant but it just seems so obnoxious!

You are so like me!!! I posted a whole bunch of stuff once and all of a sudden I was like...OMG what if someone by some chance and hell puts two & two together and tells them....:scared1: In the beginning I posted where DD went to school which was pretty stupid! I wasn't thinking at all! And another time I questioned whether or not I should be posting all the family pix. I am over it.

Yeah, even though I know we have lurkers, I'm still okay with posting family pics. I am just not a paranoid person and I enjoy showing my family off, KWIM? But DH was probably right about "if my sister ever finds out about this.." and since her DH is an attorney (even if he is a little doofy - don't think I'd want him representing me!) the first thing I decided to do was remove any of their pics. That way if someone reads it that knows her, they probably wouldn't put 2+2 together, hopefully! And heaven forbid that she would read it! I know it wouldn't happen, if they didn't log on BEFORE the trip, what would possess her to check it out after the trip? :confused3 But I only removed a few of the comments I made. It wasn't that bad really. I never called her a B**** directly, and I literally only added commentary to a couple of their moves. I could have been so much worse!!!

OK, after eating at HDDR, DH now has it in his head that we are going camping at Disney! He's looking at the ad for Dick's Sporting Good, talking about going and buying a tent!!!!! And since a campsite is only $42, he's even more excited about the season passes, and now he's trying to find a way to get the golf cart down there. If this happens, I can see us spending a lot more time in Disney - heck, ya can't even find a Comfort Inn for $42 a night! Great, now I'm becoming "outdoorsy." Nah!!!!

Yeah..I forgot that she probably know about the dis. People in my life don't even know where I am posting. Maybe DH could figure it out if I died or something but aside from that I doubt anyone know I am here. Your SIL might know about the site now, right? The thing is she would have to search and be able to find your posts which is easier said then done. Listen, I do remember a story where this happened to a Chicago area diser. It wasn't pretty!

I HATE camping (mainly because of allergies and asthma) but I always said if I was gonna camp again it would HAVE to be in WDW!!!!!

We told the whole family about disboards a long time ago and told them to search for restaurants and read reviews, etc. But I know that nobody checked it out. I had my LGMH on my bag the whole time, and it said disboards with my screen name, but don't think they'd put it together. I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

We have friends in SC who are big time campers. The mom is so put together all the time and they have one of these immaculate model home type homes, that you'd never know that about them! But they have a huge pickup truck, extended cab with room for 3 carseats in the backseat, their golf cart in the back, and they tow a huge camper. They look more like Hilton people than camping people, but she has gotten so into it since her hubby grew up camping. And DH's company owns the country's largest RV and marine auction, so if we decided we liked this I guess we could get a camper. Then we would need a truck to haul it (my Buick Rendezvous has over 100K miles now and couldn't tow a skateboard!), but DH says that we could "steal" a truck right now. Used car dealers treat them like the plague cause nobody wants to buy a gas guzzler right now. OK, now he's on ebay looking for tents! What the heck???

Yeah - the word childish about sums it up. I couldn't believe some of the things I was reading -- all from so-called "adults." This too shall pass!

I'd rather sleep on a bed of nails than go camping! Seriously, no thank you. I'm a city girl at heart; went camping for a couple of summers as a girl scout and hated every minute of it. Give me a comfy bed, electricity and indoor plumbing - that's why I require for my vacation. You enjoy yourself though!

I'm with you too, Kara, about posting family pix. I love to show them off and I'm not especially paranoid - or maybe I'm just naive. But, I do sometimes worry that someone I know will wander onto these boards and catch some of my posts. Honestly, though, I think it would be like finding a needle in a haystack. I remember when I first looked at these boards, it was really confusing and overwhelming to navigate. The longer I stuck around, the better I got at it. How would a newcomer even know how to search for any posts under your screen name? I guess it's better to be safe than sorry. Still hope we get to hear some of SIL's shenanigans!

Have a good day girls! I am off to shower, clean some, shop for a NEW dryer, check out my camera at Best Buy before I break the NO REFUND seal, and I MUST do a back up ressie today for my rental car for Naples FL in June......
Hope Jillian's party goes well!

Cammie - be careful what you wish for! Once I get photopass cd I will overwhelm y'all with photos, complete with narratives, usually about something crappy SIL did around that time! :rotfl2: And I know that she doesn't know my screen name and you're right, there's really no way she could find my posts. But she works for a large company in Raleigh, what if someone who works there saw it and saw her pic???

I went camping in the FL Keys when I was in college - it was loads of fun, mainly cause we passed out each night - c'mon I was in college!!! And there were tons of other college students at the campground. But Jeff is already talking about taking our air mattress to camp - yeah, really roughing it! :lmao: I guess it might be fun to try it with Ally - she'd have a blast I'm sure!

Bring it on! You know I love looking at friend's pictures from Disney..... so overwhelm away!

Debbie - Enjoy your day!

Jillian - Good luck with Badookie's party. The weather is gorgeous today!

Renee - Good luck with the in-laws today; stay far away from BIL!

I'm so excited - got my ME tags yesterday! This is the first time I'm using it the "right" way. I've never made the reservations before - usually have just wandered over to the desk with my luggage and have gotten on board. It's not always the quickest for us in the past, because I have to wait for a bus that has wheelchair access, but for this trip with just Lauren and I, we're letting them take care of our luggage and going right to the bus! So excited!

Yea Cammie! I love getting all the stuff in the mail for the upcoming trip - and yours is so close now!!!

Debbie, is there anything you DON'T have a picture for? :rotfl2:

Just called to make an ADR for Rose & Crown and nothing is available! Glad I haven't cancelled FF yet! I'll keep calling I guess. I even tried to rearrange my current ADRs but that wouldn't work either. The only thing left for the day we arrive is 4:40 and we won't leave home until 3 so that puts us in around 6ish depending on Orlando rush hour. See? This makes me nervous thinking that September is going to be busy! :scared1:

Went to Office Max today and got a nice 8" digital photo frame for Jeff's parents, and it looks like I can add music to it, too! This gift will just be from us, not el cheapo! Then they had a 5.6" frame on sale for $39!!! Normally $79 so we grabbed one of those for ourselves!

Then up to the pool for some fun in the sun this afternoon, except there was no sun - stupid weatherman! And then the first rumble of thunder and the lifeguards kicked everyone out of the pool. Not many people there to begin with which was nice. And we have to miss all the Memorial Day weekend festivities since we'll be in SC closing on our house. Jeff agreed to drive back on Sunday evening so at least we'll be home on Monday to relax.

Kara - Food & Wine festival is going on; for your first night, why not make a dinner of samples from the various booths? I believe each sample costs anywhere from $2-$4. It could be fun. I know I always wanted to be able to enjoy the samples, but was always conscience of an ADR I had and didn't want to ruin my appetite. You and hubby can stroll hand in hand around your favorite parks, enjoying treats from around the world!
