Oh Lordy, guys, there's a poster on the food porn thread,"lurkyloo" whose posting pix of food from her wedding at Disney: she had her ceremony IN Epcot - Morrocco; reception at the BW; then dessert reception at back in Epcot in UK. You should check it out - she posts a link to pix in her sig.

I swore I'd never get married again - but if I could have a wedding like that ...... I think I need to go on a manhunt!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Oh Cammie - you'll spend the next 25 years training him! :thumbsup2

I haven't been to the Galleria in Houston. We have a Galleria in Dallas that is awesome! Many of the stores are too upscale for my liking, but we like to go, and usually only go once a year on Christmas Eve Eve. We like to ice skate around the big tree and eat lunch there, then buy a couple of impulsive last minute gifts. I imagine that they are similar, the Gallerias?

I need to work on the water! I had a kidney stone a few years back that woke me up out of my sleep. You would think I'd have learned my lesson, but no.....I go in spurts, but that is great to know about the muscle thing. I haven't heard that before. Thanks, Renee!

I will never catch up on the thousands of pages that I missed from Friday night thru now. I so needed drunk posting this weekend! DH and I had a big arguement and then we had kids at our house for the rest of the weekend. We had to go buy a new washer and dryer last night because mine died this weekend. They were both dying a slow death. I can't stand spending that much money on appliances, but we got the front loading ones, and the kids are so excited! Maybe they'll do the laundry!!!:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I am off to a retirement dinner. I will be home late tonight, so I will miss at least 100 pages more.:sad2: I will talk to you all soon! :grouphug:

Pam, drink your water and lemonaide! DH gets Kidney stones - not fun

Cammie, funny - we ate at BOMA for dinner - the service and wine were fantastic, the buffet was plentiful and ethnic, but the "flavors of Africa" just aren't my thing, I guess. There was alot of cinnamon or nutmeg in everything - meat, veggies, etc. The zebra thingys for dessert were flavorless goo. It is a good experience, once. We did eat breakfast there, too - I did love that! My DS ate at Jiko and didn't like it, either. :confused3 We are pretty adventurous, having lived overseas, but I guess we like Japanese or Thai better, and of course anything Mexican! Jodanyosh is Japanese American, and he liked the Yak and Yehti CS. I haven't heard great things about the TS, either. I think we'll just do the lunch. DS didnt like the Flametree BBQ. He and I have pretty similar taste in food, except he likes it really spicy!
We loved Brown Derby - too bad you had bad experiences there both times. I hope you like Chefs De France when you try it!

Well, I'd better get some leftovers heated up (I made Japanese last night) and get some end of month stuff done. Talk to you girls later!

My laptop is dead - I don't like sitting in my office with no TV

OK, I need to go check out lurkyloo's pics! Just got back from the last minute stuff I needed to do - DD needed new sneakers for PE tomorrow. Apparently her toes were touching the ends and she waited until tonight to tell me. If they don't wear sneakers on days they have PE (which, BTW, changes every week!), they get a mark. When they get 5 marks, parents get a call. Then she tells me that they didn't get recess today because they had to clean their desks in the morning, and they missed afternoon recess because one boy was talking. WTH??? They are soooo strict - denied recess because they had to clean their desks??? Yeah, that's going to make kids stay neat! I hate this school!!!!!

OK, back later....

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Oh Cammie - you'll spend the next 25 years training him! :thumbsup2

Nah - I'll dump him after I get my wedding in Epcot!

I know what you mean about the African theming - it's one of the reasons the AKL doesn't appeal to me either. I did hear the Boma breakfast is top-notch also. Sorry to hear about the Flame Tree; now that Tusker House is a TS (we LOVED it as a CS) I'm searching for a cs place for lunch at AK - was thinking of trying Flame Tree. What else is there?

As for the Brown Derby, my experiences are shaped alot by how much my DDs are enjoying their meal. Like I said, I can usually find something I like on any menu, but DD didn't like anything! Even the chicken soup was kind of weird! I did like the atomosphere of the place and, if I didn't have the girls with me, I would eat there again!

Cammie - I totally love Flame Tree - one of my favorite CS places in WDW! It feels more like real food as opposed to just burgers and sandwiches. Barbeque chicken or ribs, plus corn on the cob and beans. Yummy! If that's your cup of tea!

Just saw all those wedding pics. Whoa! Scares me having a girl.... looked pretty pricey!!! Although DH and I paid for about 1/3 of our wedding, his parents 1/3 and my parents 1/3. That way everyone could have a say in it, since they were paying for something.

Watching Hell's Kitchen now. I love Chef Ramsay!!!

I got all 15 shirts done this afternoon - way more than I thought I was going to have to do!!!! I'm getting there.... but the house has to be spotless before I go. Anyone else like this before vacation?

Ya know, Cammie, I think my DVC hopes are sitting in my garage right now in the form of a golf cart. :sad2: I guess I'll just have to ask Santa! I always threaten DH with that. If I ask Santa, DD will expect me to get it! :rotfl2:

Hi Gals…
Did ya miss me?
I can’t believe I stayed away all day! I cleaned and ran around and am still going to bed feeling like I didn’t do enough. Oh well what’s new! I clean one room while the kids are trashing another! Had to bring my mom a couple places today..DS had speech..I cleaned..blah blah…
I will catch up tomorrow..... I hope!
Hey, where's Renee been?

I know what you mean - I don't know why everything is turning to TS these days - just another way to cut back on the dining plan, I guess. DH is still set on doing it. Even the ESPN burgers are TS - :confused3

We did Brown Derby as part of the Fantasmic package - I loved the Hollywood feel, too. While we were waiting to be seated, they came and got "the book" of celebrity autographs and snuck away with it. We tried to crane our necks and see who it was, but couldn't. I think the celebrity was in one of those private rooms. It was fun to speculate!

Kara, Flame Tree does sound good. I don't know for sure why DS didn't like it. He ordered BBQ for his wedding dinner, so I know it wasn't the type of food. We might try it - I have seen a few more negatives for Y&Y.

Hi Debbie - congrats on getting so much done, even with me bugging you!

Hi Tessa, Erin, Renee, Jillian, Laura, Pam, Keahi. I'm off to check out that food porn - thanks Cammie!

Good morning! :)

It's still cool today, but at least the sun is out!:sunny:

Actually, looking at her planning journal, she said to have a wedding in MK (or Epcot, too, I guess) with 50 people was $25,000. She's from California and originally wanted her wedding in DL, but that costs $60,000! Now being from the Northeast like me, $25,000 for a wedding isn't alot. My wedding, 15 years ago, cost $20,000 - and I had it in a crappy hotel ballroom in New Jersey! I just had no idea you could have ceremonies in the parks - so cool! (I'll stop obsessing over it now)

Ya know, Cammie, I think my DVC hopes are sitting in my garage right now in the form of a golf cart. :sad2:

That's just wrong.:sad2:

Hey, where's Renee been?

Um, yeah, we missed ya! Stop being productive and come play today!

I'm off to check out that food porn - thanks Cammie!

Did you find anything yummy?

Well, I'm off to the usual today - gym, errands. DD gets out of school early today so I should be home for most of the afternoon.

Kara and Laura - Can't believe you'll both be in WDW this time next week. So jealous!

I know that $25K for a wedding probably is reasonable - but that's 2 DVC memberships!!!!! :rotfl2: When DH and I got married, we had both had summer jobs at a golf course in Ohio. I drove the beer cart (best job I EVER had!!!!) and bartended, and he was a starter. Then when my dad retired, he worked there, too. That is where DH and I met, so we had our reception there and the owner charged us everything at cost!!!! So it was a very cheap reception but it had a lot of meaning for us, too.

I bought one of those photo keychains for my mom for Mother's Day - so I'm downloading photos onto it now (heaven knows they won't know how to do it!!!) so I can get it mailed this week for her. I told DH this will be the first time I've ever gotten her Mother's Day present to her on time since I have to mail it early!

Off to ride the kids to the bus stop! I'll be back to play later!

Well, I am officially a Live 365 VIP now!!! I couldn't resist! So I have it running through my Tivo now instead of my computer! Lovin it already!!!!!!

Okay that makes me jealous. Off to ride the kids to the bus stop--what a life :)

I feel like I am running at 100 mph now. I can't believe all of the little things that come up before a vacation. I got the gift baskets done. Very cute. The theme was under the sea. So out come Ariel and Sebastian. They'd better win! Then the school calls and says hey we're having a taste test, can you make it. DBIL is coming for dinner tonight. I haven't even begun to tackle the "pit". That's what I call the play room.

DH announces this AM I need new contacts for WDW. WHT???? It takes 2 weeks for them to get here. AGHHH!! I really believe I have 3 kids. So the phone will be plastered to my ear trying to find them. I think I'm going to try 800 contacts. Anyone have any luck?

So probably not much time to play today.

Debbie I did wonder where you were yesterday. We didn't have any GF pix :rotfl:

Tina- Thanks for the postcard. DD LOVED IT!!!

I'll pass the favor on, if you want a postcard sent please PM me you address.

YES to 1-800Contacts!!! I just ordered DH's a couple of weeks ago. Make sure you have the prescription when you order. They have to call the dr to get approval and then they ship next day. We probably got them 3-4 days after we ordered, but I'm sure they can rush!

Good luck!!!!

Hiya - I had a shock when you said you were going to have 800 contacts before WDW - I though you meant you were going to have to phone 800 people up -:rotfl2::rotfl2: language eh!!!

Tessa

Good morning everyone.

I will catch up on the posts later today! I'm not even sure what is going on with everyone with so many posts! Kara & Laura - I'm sure you are getting ready now, so I hope you have a very wonderful trip. Make sure to take a mental note for me of if you think this time of year is better than Oct! :rotfl2:

DH is up to his bright ideas again! :lmao: Last night HE decided that he THINKS that Oct would be better than May, but he isn't sure so he told me to ASK THE BOARD! He is trying now to decided between the BW or Poly! :lmao: LOVE IT! He comes up with such great ideas, now doesn't he! :cloud9:

I made DS some cupcakes for school today. They have Lightning McQueen of course. Turned out really cute if I do say so myself. I used blue sprinkles and they had the little disks of McQueen to go in them. Then I put the plastic McQueen bracelets around the cupcake liner tins. TOO CUTE! I need to take a picture.

Today will be more of the same from yesteday. CLeaning- YUCK! But it has got to be done. I'm excited that I might have a ticker soon! However, it will be for next year. Anyone know if you are better off doing the package deal, or just booking the room seperate?

Have a good day :flower3: everyone, and I will check in later!

It's funny as I check the weather DAILY - on Monday it was showing highs in the upper 80's - too hot! Now it's right in the mid-80's - perfect for me! I'm sure it'll change again before we go!

I think you should book the cheapest way and then watch for specials as your trip draws closer and make the necessary changes. Cause you KNOW that there will be a couple of deals offered! We're getting free Water Parks and More option on this trip. :woohoo: I think we ended up saving about $100 per family. I keep telling DMIL that she needs to buy me a $300 present for saving her that money! :rotfl:

Kara- just checked the weather. Whoo-hooo!! upper 80's on weather channel.com. I am so looking forward to the heat.

Renee- totally agree with Kara. Watch for a code. I missed the Waterparks and more code but I got $200 off my ressie with a code found on the boards.

Well, I just made two ADRs for September - Chefs de France and Tuttu Italia. Still need one more......

I've been reading up more on YC - getting excited for that trip! Plus the fact that it will be just me and DH. Don't know if we'll ever leave Epcot!!!
